Did anyone notice they seem to have closed the Asylum building alltogether?

I walk past everyday and I used to see the dance school on and the place would be opened up. Since the awakening gig in May I haven't seen it open once.

It looks like they won't even let the dance school in the place now

No there was a good enough buzz of them when you were on them alright fairly head strong from what I remember but not skaggy. Just ****ed your stomach for about 2 days after. Remember taking them xmas night and having to go out and eat dinner with my ex's da the next day, food wasn't the best to start with but my stomach was in tatters and that never happened with doves snowballs or any of the e's before that. maybe loss of appetite but never actually sick!

Think dollars came out a while after that and they were even worse on the stomach!

Mitshubishis = Temple Theatre. Enough said. Bouncers there used to ask people in the Q if went to The Asylum, so people naturally put up a hand and said 'Yeah' as if they would deffo get in. But oh no it was' No your not gettin in so'. So half the Q would melt away into a Garda search accross the road. My mates all said the Apples were great, I never done them so I have to take their word for it.
The last decent one from back in the day I can remember was Pink Mad Bastards which were consumed in Marleys, Pablo will remember this place. Excellent sounds and one I can remember is

Used to do the strawberries after going to the Olympic and hang around the grounds of a mental home in Palmerstown till the wee hours in summer of 94  How did we survive it. This one springs to mind.
Remember these 2 lads from town me and me mate used to buzz with in the Olympic and Asylum, I remember one night they were outside the Asylum and they were dying for e to get off a mouldy trip buzz. Later that morning one of them was outside the Garden of Rememberance freaking out auld ones by blowing up jonnies over his head with one of those leather bowler hats on, nutcase:D

    Sensation - Beautiful Morning

Use to take these walking around the streets and remember just having a good head buzz, no horrible skag or anything. Was able to go home, chat to the aul one and all and go back out.

"A juicy red apple is nice..."

    SeanyBoy1,
remember around the time the MA125's were around, a mate got Smokebelch and played it at a party, another mate rushing off his head going, "MAAAAAA", "MAAAAAAA". Great track.

You cant beat a White Dove,
    dove-ecstasy.jpg

Oh yeah baby, the one and only.
I know Homer would say "mmmhhhhh Dovesssssssss"

I was well out of the scene when the likes of the apples, mistis etc came out...thank god.

I had the pleasure of a few capsules right at the start of my raving career, I don't know what they were called but rush, rush, rush all night long and you'd still get a few mini rushes listening to Sunset on Sunday afternoon.

Then in the Olympic it was Doves all the way, what great nights floating around in the friendliest place on earth, a few laps of the floor, up to the balcony on a mission and back to the dance floor in the middle of the green laser giving it 100% and everyone on the exact same buzz...ggggoooooooo..ooooonnnnnnnnnnn, you wat, you wat, you wat, you wat, you wat, you wat. Ah the craic in there was amazing, you could do what you wanted, dress anyway, dance anyway, shout and scream your head off and no one gave a fcuk, it was a real rave, no attitudes at all.

I only even had one bad E experiance in the Ballroom, it was New Years night, the Sound Crowd were playing their first live gig and the place was empty and I ended up with poxy MA125's, I think thats what they were called, horse **** tablets, what muck. A mate of mine ended up with a horn for a week after taken 2 of these.

    Enough of the bad ones:mad:

Then on to Sides DC, more Doves:D from a good source in Tallagh;). I had a few unknows towards the end of Sides but they were mad on the head, that was the beginning of the end for me:p I stuck to the Scrumpy Jack in the Ormond MMC.

So it's been well over ten years since I've indulged:eek:

    Cheers,
    Mick
