    So IMO

    1) Sean O'Brien was very unlucky not to get that spot. While Elsom and Heaslip were great in the loose, our ability to protect ball and turn it over was SEVERELY lacking.

2)At times Whitaker was faster than he had been in previous matches, an yet at other periods he was slow as hell. He's still our best scrummie so hey, whatcha gonna do about it.

3)What was the story with Van Der Linde? Sorely missed.

4)Having two players who were suffering from injuries until last week backfired. Contepomi was good in the loose but suffered majorly as a ten.

Finally, that was, unless leinster can get a bonus point away to a still misfiring wasps, the biggest throw away of a home quarter final i've ever seen.

Good post. VDL strained his calf before the match I think.

And btw, I know that RugbyFanatic was banned etc but Stev_o - do we always have to engage in petty squabbling like that? Its really f**cking annoying when you're actually on this to read about rugby, and two people pollute the thread with stupid individual pettiness. Ok, you think BOD shouldn't have kicked it. We get it. You're not gonna change his mind. Move on.

This happens so much here and it pisses me off.

Well thats what we're continuously trying to cut out. I do have to say though that on top of the fact that leinster were ****, the ref was BRUTAL. absolutely and utterly terrible.

samestory as the whole season tbh....flashes of brilliance but contunualy ****ing it up with a terrible knock on or some other silly mistake. Can't remeber how many poinbts we missed from kicks...double digits anyway. Not going to win anything with out a decent kicker.

i thought the ref was bad too tbh but then i haven't seen a replay and everyone on here thinks he favoured Leinster :o Seemed to me that leinster were justly penalised for offences but castre got away with the same infringements. Ithought the final penalty of the game summed it up tbh

wrt the ref favouring Leinster I think the sinbinning was harsh then look at some of the penalties that Leinster gave away in the red zone and no card. The stats show 14 pens against Leinster and 9 against Castres.

Turnovers and poor ball handling killed it for Leinster.

They will still come out of their group but I think a home QF is drifting away from them.

Yes, a perfectly accurate analysis, as always Ruggie, but it doesn't explain these kind of erratic and eccentric performances. I just can't understand the enigma that is Leinster. Look at that team-sheet last night. Oodles of class, talent, skill and ability all over the park. Proven match winners, proven leaders in key positions and yet they can come out and perform like a rudderless rabble who met in the car park 30 mins before the match. It is completely unacceptable from such a massively talented and professional squad. It isn't the losing, anyone can get beat, but it's the manner of it. Just bizarre to my eyes.

I'm not terribly au-fait with the Leinster coaching set up, but do they work with a sports psychologist?. If not I reckon its something that should be seriously considered.

I made a critism about something and he argued with me? I was merely defending my point which i think everyone has a right to do, if it is a big problem to you either you can PM me or go to feedback with it.

Btw anyone think that CJ is looking a like a really bad signing for Leinster or did the management expect too much of him after having Ollie? The guy doesnt interested playing and isnt offering alot to Leinster think if they brought back Ollie they'd at least have one very strong ball carrier to get across the gain line.

He looked exhausted when he arrived at Leinster. I'd say he needs a good month's rest and then let him bash into teams.

Leinster are out of the heineken cup now.

Even a losing bonus in wasps and a 5 point v Edinburgh may not be enough, which we wont even get, but if we do get it we wont beat the 1st / 2nd seed in the quarters away.

Another gutless, heartless, pussy, no aggression performance with no leadership, no one stepping up that has summed up Leinster rugby for the last 10 years.

Absolute disgrace and I think unless we turn this around and get a semi / final / win in the HEC this year Cheika should go, the team has not progressed and terrible selections have taken place over the last couple of years, gutless calls from the coach and poor game plans. We will go out this year by the way because we didn't get the bonus at home v Castres. Yet being conservative at home and taking 3 points when 9 points up against a team who hasn't set foot in our half was still the right call if you ask the coach who hasn't made a leader out of one player to know otherwise.

Absolutely disgracful result against a poort team and heads should roll. Sick to death of this and we need a coach who will b0llock the fu*k out of this team and get them playing.

Also having no kicker has cost us again. For the one millionth time.

Think Leinster need a re-think id agree that Cheika needs to go and Gaffney is looking like a pure waste, Leinster management should note a certain Jake White still doesnt have a job.....

Though for the moment selections need to be sorted out Leinster have talented players who arent being played or out of position in favor. of the old guard, they should take their chance trust the youth and see what happens.

I know Leinster are a big club but do you really think we could get him? Considering, he showed absolutely no interest in the Irish job when it was up. I'd be surprised if he would even entertain the idea...

Sure they managed to get players such as Elsom and CJV, White didnt get the England job and he's only gotten as far as getting a week advisory role with Scarries he ll eventually need to pay his mortage. Sure Henaken Mayer (Poor spellings i know) said if he couldnt coach the Boks he couldnt coach anyone and retired for coaching only for a few months later to be installed as Leicester's new head coach. If Leinster have the money which they do they could get anyone they want.

Think we may have to agree to disagree on this one. As things are I just don't think White would come to Dublin. I could be wrong obviously but its just the way I feel at the moment.
