hi i got home and turned on the pc booted up and plugged in the external hardrive. all i get is a little blinking light. i change the cables and the power lead no difference then i out try my second external hardrive and i get the same blinking light dead as well :eek:then i try it on the laptop same story.
iv tried putting them in the pc as internal drives but that just seems to freeze the pc
so both my drives are dead

there was no source of magnesium
    it wasn't lighting

my question is what could kill two hardrives on the same day
    maybe a virus:(
    :(

    Try a powered usb hub.

i was able to save one of the drives by adding it as an normal drive the other utterly dead.

must has been a bad power cable or something
