How to save the game in Mario Galaxy

Hello

Is anyone playing this at the moment? I spent ages on it the other night and was afraid to turn it off incase I had to go back to the start next time I played but couldn't find any way to save the game. I tried to google this but all I got were cheats. I don't want cheats! Do I have to buy a memory card or something?

It saves automatically when you get a star.

OOooooh. And by get a star do you mean when I jump into one to go somewhere else? I've gone through at least 4 of them now and still no saving has been done.

No, at the end of each section you find a solid gold star. Mario grabs it, spins around and goes woo-hoo! Then you're returned to the observatory where you can select the next level.

Agree with the other two, its pretty much automatic!
and once've you've finished the game with mario, you get to play the whole game again as luigi! -by then you wont want to but its good for the first couple of levels..

I only have about 12 left,(Yeah i know, wtf is a girl playing Mario eh?) and i'm on Rayman Ravin Rabbids ATM ..94% in story mode.. im such a nerd:rolleyes:
