Attracted to friend, want to walk away

    Hello,

I have this problem, that I am quite attracted to a friend of mine. I have known her for 3 years. Both of us have partners.
I liked this girl on and off for ages, even before I met my present gf. I believe I got some signs she might feel the same, but I never tried anything as cheating is a major no no for me.
my friend and I are really close, but I have found this attraction to be really frustrating, and the easiest way of dealing with problems for me is to walk away from them.

I am moving cities in a few days and she has asked me to keep in touch. So I was thinking, that once I go, that i will just leave it be, and try to forget about her.

I wanted opinions on if this is fair, or is there a better way of dealing with this?

    Thanks for listening.

    Hi,
the thing that struck me about your problem is that you titled it 'attracted to friend, want to walk away'- it seems to me you have the ideal opportunity in moving cities to do what you say you want (to walk away) surely that is your answer?

Also is an 'on and off attraction' for a friend a good enough reason to throw away your relationship and possibly lose a friendship, if you're feelings are deep and you felt you couldn't bear to move away then that's a different story, but it sounds as though this is purely a physical attraction? Unless you are in denial about your feelings for this girl...
