dunnes is the last of the irish owned supermarkets, lets hope they don't sell out to asda, cause if you look around its like we're being recolonised i.e tescos, currys, dixons, pc world, debenhams etc etc

just out of interest is there any patriotic zealots out there who don't shop in the british owned stores??

You've forgotton about the German invasion! :pac:

Anyway the staff are "local", some are even Irish.

Definitely a plus point, Dunnes used to it but they stopped. Don't know why  Customers get really annoyed when they realise they can't..usually at me

You can buy in Dunnes, use the Dunnes clubcard and pay with your Tesco Visa (if you have one) and get some points for that. So you get points for both shops. :D

A lot of that is down to local management.
    Tesco Artaine Castle is well-maintained

Yeah have to agree with this. I use to work out near artane and that was close. Place was always clean though still had the problem of products being there one week and gone the other.

Now Tesco Ballymun is another story. Think of Tesco in a nuclear holocaust future. Store is a disgrace!!

Damn them and their cheap tasty food. I much rather going into dunnes where the thing I want is never there... so I wander over to the ****ty looking vegetables, move on, buy some wedges and leave. :pac:

Tesco ... cause I hate Dunnes - but that may be down to the fact that my mammy loves it.

    +1

Mammys do love their Dunnes. Which makes me goto Tesco. Less chance of being stuck behind an aul wan getting €200 worth of tripe and paying by card

The self service counters, while sometimes disastrous, is handy if your only grabbing a tenners worth of bits, especially in the Express/Metro stores

But i do agree that Dunnes are cheaper. Generally it works out at, the cheaper the groceries, the longer the queue. Aldi/Lidl prime examples. Dont get me started on Asda up north

But Asda is worth it. Who has left that store in Enniskillen without a smug feeling of satisfaction? Nobody, thats who! :D
