Which do you prefer, given the 2 options.

Lidl or Aldi is a whole different story

I don't think tescos is nearly as cheap as they'd like you to think.

I'd choose Dunnes cause they're Irish and fairly good quality for the money.

Tesco's as I'd never shop in Dunnes, ever ever ever.

I do prefer Lidl and Aldi though over Tesco's and whenever I get a loan of the Musgraves card I'd stock up on stuff.

Oh and M&S have some lovely stuff too.

Dunnes but only because you provided the option of Tescos who have recently been sneaking in price increase after price increase. Wont be shopping there again, good luck with that lads!

Tesco for their own-brand hummous and jalapeno relish...

Tescos fruit & Veg is terrible. Dunnes is better, Lidl is best for freshness.

As with the Lidl/Aldi poll: where's the Neither or Both option??

    Dunnes .

Once you leave the central isle with the special offers in Tesco you're getting seriously overcharged.
My shop is always less in Dunnes. Have used both and has been this way for the last few years.

dunnes is the last of the irish owned supermarkets, lets hope they don't sell out to asda, cause if you look around its like we're being recolonised i.e tescos, currys, dixons, pc world, debenhams etc etc

just out of interest is there any patriotic zealots out there who don't shop in the british owned stores??

tesco for their own brand stuff.

basically cheap sweets + booze for me coz i've better things to spend my money on.

    my favourites;

tesco brand swiss rolls, chocolate, biscuits, vodka, energy drinks and double concentrated blackcurrant drink.

    +1 to that.

For me it's Dunnes for 75% of stuff and 25% comes from Aldi or Lidl.

Have another go at reading the 2nd line of the original post

    See that link there....

    Re: Domo230 location..
Ha, the homeless shop in Lidl or Aldi it seems... and also have internet access.

I classify Dunnes and Tesco in the same league/direct competitors.
Similarly, I classify Lidl and Aldi in the same league/direct competitors.

And im sure people who shop in either Lidl/Aldi, shop in Tesco/Dunnes (Supermarket) too.

We want freedom of choice in AHs polls:P

But at the moment l would go with Dunne's , as they have lots of special offers on at the moment.

This is very close to my heart. For all the bad things said about Dunnes stores at least they have ethics. They support Irish companies and always help out businesses in their local districts (Athlone Sweet, local bakeries etc)
They buy products from Irish suppliers and to the best of my knowledge they aren't exploiting the grey market. Not importing products from the UK.
Also IMO the standard of the Dunnes sites is much higher than other rivals, have good lighting, great product range, very rarely you see gaps on the shelves (off sales, out of stocks) and also the hygeine in Dunnes is quite good.

Tesco are completely the opposite, destroying Irish distributors by exploiting the grey market and not passing any savings onto the consumers.
They have also put up most of the prices on all products between October and November.
Tesco are one of the worst offenders for off sales and out of stocks, that is fact and if anybody wants to know how I know this they can PM me

Also the standard of hygeine in Tesco stores is disgraceful, shelves aren't cleaned, freezers and chill cabinets aren't cleaned on a regular basis whereas Dunnes do Deep cleans on Freezers and Chill every 2 weeks.

I think anybody that shops in Tesco over Dunnes needs their head checked/ I could actually go on all day about Tesco and their dispicable ethics but I haven't got all day unfortunately
