So I’m thinking of buying a new LCD TV. I have seen that if I were to go to the north or England, most likely the north, and get the TV I can save over €100 in the price difference. What I was wanting to ask was I remember before TV’s coming from the north or England need a converter box to change the signal due to the UK using a different frequency or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It used to be that the majority of our transmitters were VHF- while those in the UK were predominantly UHF. We've now moved over predominantly to UHF also- with a few exceptions (and the Irish DTT signals are all UHF). Make sure the specifications of the TV are MPEG4, MHEG5 compatible, and you should be sorted.
