Microkorg Midi/Usb problem

    I just bought a microkorg..works fine through speakers and amp etc..but i can't seem to get any sound through the laptop..i bought a midi/usb cable and it seems to recognize the microkorg but no sound comes out..i'm using a basic software called mixcraft for the moment and wondering is this compatible?:confused:

    midi info is only control data. the point of connecting the microkorg to the laptop via midi to so that
    1. you can use the keyboard from the microkorg to send midi notes and information to the computer
    2. you can receive midi info from the computer which will control the microkorg
    If your using the above set up you should turn "local off" on your microkorg.

    however the audio still comes out of the analogue audio outputs of the microkorg. if you want to hear the microkorg through the laptop you need to connect the audio outputs to the line in on your soundcard (if it has one). probably need a 1/4 inch jack to 1/8 inch jack connection.
