Pre theatre menu recommendations please?.

    I'm cracking open the wallet and taking the gang to Cinderella at The Gaiety in December and am looking for a good Restaurant with a pre-theatre menu in the area.

    The Trocadero is great, but I'm not mad about their pre-theatre menu.

    Anyone?.

    Hugo's on Merrion Row was pretty epic when I went there. I had a concession, but reckon it'd be worth full price.

    It's a bit far, and I assume this kids are going, but Floridita on Abbey St is sheer amazing, Mairt. Well worth a look.

    try the boulevard cafe on exchequer street, the food is good in there

    Peploes is great. I think they do a pretty reasonable pre-theatre menu. Otherwise it can work out pretty expensive, but well worth in in my opinion. Lots of room, big comfortable chairs (in case your kids are all giants) and lovely food.

    The food in Floridita is beyond dreadful.

    L'Gueuleton is very nice, close by, no reservations though if that was to be an issue. It's also quite cheap. One Pico do a pre-theatre for €45, and it is great value. FXB's fire up a big lump of good steak.

    For Chapter One, you used to have to book the pre-theatre menu a few weeks in advance. This might have changed considering the current financial situation.

    We did indulge in.... a few... cocktails beforehand downstairs. May have influenced the opinion slightly!
