My memory is of Meatloaf rushing onto the stage in the National Stadium in 1990. During the opening number, "Out of the frying pan and into the fire", he raced onto the stage, ranting and raving as he does. During his antics he slipped completely off the stage and landed in a heap at the feet of the front row.It took about 6 security cards to lift him back onto the stage. He even managed to compose himself and get to the mic for the first line of the song!Legendary!

Yeah the Belgians are a very odd bunch altogether! I'm still going back though!

Some eejit thought it was funny to rest his pint in my friends hood at Arcade Fire. My mate felt something in his hood, reached back and threw it out of his hood and all over the muppet. The eejit then went somewhere else because everyone around and even his own mates were laughing at him. Completely drenched.

Probably the Napolean Dynamite look-a-like drummer in Arcade Fire going mental with the drumsticks.. on American Football helmets, the stage, the lighting..

some cranky fella broke his mic stand, cudnt fix it , stopped the song, still couldnt get it then got pissed of and got the bassist 2 do it! Corse he fixed it in seconds n the singer went balistic! He was in such a mood for the rest of the set he started pickin fights with the crowd!

At Lollapalooza about 10-15 years ago when it stopped at Randall's Island in New York, I was sitting in one of the stands and a guy at the bottom of the stands was puking in front of a fairly big group of people. He did a couple of "rounds" and when he was finished he got a big round of applause.

I don't know if this qualifies, but Peter Kay doing a surprise "support slot" at Billy Joel's gig in Croke Park a few years ago was comedy gold.

I remember Shat in the Music Centre as support to Icarus Line, all decked out with dildos attached to their heads and jocks etc.

    Have photos somewhere.

Was at a gig in the SFX many years ago. One bouncer was being v rough with anyone they pulled out or was crowd surfing giving them a few digs. Someone threw chewing gum into his hair which was very long. Next thing loads of gum is flying at him every time he came out. He eventually had to go offstage.

a dude was trying to sit on someones shoulders to see at a metal gig but instead of doing it the normal way.. he was on his knees, kneeling bolt upright on someones shoulders.. he fell forward in a highly comical fashion and face planted.. I nearly got sick laughing! He wasn't badly injured, but the fall was pure slapstick.

Another good one; At Daft Punk in Marley park a in 2006, on the way out walking to the buses a mate was puking & wandered off the track - when he had recovered he came walking back to me screaming incoherant madness - which was picked up by people around us (they all joined in screaming) and a big howl ran up and down the etire length of the line of people leaving the gig, hundreds of people screaming madness & when it stops he looks at me amused & bewildered and goes "did I do that?". classic :)

funniest thing i ever seen was at a biohazard gig in the tivoli in 1993(i think!!). from what i can remember the band were a couple of songs into their set when the lead guitarist took exception to the security being overzealous with the crowd. a bit of verbals were exchanged and then the guitarist took a swipe at one of the security guys with his boot. cue chaos as band and security started to scrap and were subsequently joined by half the crowd. great craic:D

needless to say that was the end of the gig:p

My funniest two incidents actually involve wheelchairs...

Went to the Reading Festival in 2000...

Right up the front row, jam packed for Oasis... crowd swaying from side to side, feet not touching the ground type pushing going on... Pretty dangerous basically.

A guy, who looked like a vietnam veteran plows his way through the crowd in his electric wheelchair. His minder was another vietnam vet looking guy pissed out of his head swearing at people to get out of the way... Strange more than anything else really :o

My second incident was at Wittness a few years after that in fairyhouse. A guy in a wheelchair crowd-surfing... yes, a guy in this wheelchair... crowd-surfing. He eventually came out of the wheelchair and was crowd-surfing and his wheelchair was then being crowd-surfed after him...

I'm sorry, but I couldn't do anything but laugh :D

At the Pixies/Chili Peppers gig in the Phoenix park a couple of years ago, someone threw a tennis ball on stage. Wouldn't have been that remarkable, except Anthony Keidis wasn't paying attention, and the tennis ball managed to come down in a large arc and bounced right in the middle of the top of his head. Just a perfect landing. Absolutely hilarious.

Saw the stage collapse forwards in the old Mandela hall at QUB belfast at a Neds Atomic Dustbin concert many years ago ! Was hilarious...thankfully no one got hurt ! They came on stage...all lept up in the air, maybe played a note or two and as they landed the stage gave way under them. Gig cancelled..played again a few months later.
