    Hello,
I wanted to know if anybody could recommend a good Mazda Dealer in Dublin.

I have been to 2 so far, Belgard road which charged me 1000€ for my last service (320€ just for labour and 80€ for each ignition coils) and Phoenix Motor in Bluebell that charged me 90€ just to pull out the code (diagnostic, I had a bad connection on one of the coil that the other Mazda dealer didn't tied up correcty). The guy in Phoenix Motor looks like he has never seen an RX-8 before, there are not even connected to the Mazda database (I asked him to check if my car got all the recalls and he couldn't even do that).

Basically, I'd like to get my next service done by a Mazda dealer that does a good job, knows what they they are doing, and are not pricing over the top.

    Cheers,
    Yann

I went to Sandyford Mazda twice with my old RX8 and wouldn't recommend them. Think they are cheaper than Belgard but they didn't inspire confidence and I got the impression that they hadn't worked on many RX8s either.

I've also heard poor reports on Belgard.

If no one on here suggests a good dealer in Dublin maybe consider going to a big Mazda dealer in Belfast where the service department are likely to see a good few RX8's coming through. You never know it might even work out cheaper as well!

I told the guy in Phoenix Motor that something was wrong with the ignition system and you know what he did (before even opening the bonnet, or listening to the engine)? Went for a test drive and pushed the car (I could hear him speeding in Bluebell).

If I don't get recommendation, I may try Lindsay Mazda (Lisburn). As you said, even with the petrol cost if will probably end up being cheaper....

I got my 3 MPS serviced in Joe Duffy (Finglas). First service cost about 250 which included a replacement car for the day. I bought the car from them and found the sales & service department very helpful to date. The service guys are well used to RX's and MPS models and seem to know their stuff.

This is good to know! Was the replacement car free? 250€ is very good value!

    Hi

Never, ever, ever, ever deal with the Park Motors service people on the North Circular Road

Their customer service levels are the worst I have ever experienced and they never got my car (Mazda 5) right

    Park motor to avoid. Noted!
I'm surprised nobody came up with a site to rate and review car dealers in ireland...This would be very good and problably push the "bad" dealers to improve!

Replacement car was free as standard. That was last May and it was the cars first service so perhaps with the belt tightening things may have changed? Since the service there were 2 recalls on the 3 MPS and they were prompt in contacting me and the work was carried out swiftly.

I had my RX8 serviced at Joe Duffy Mazda. They did a good job. They also provide a replacement car. Remember, depending on the service the price can vary by quite a bit, the first two services should be a couple of hundred euros, however the 50,000km service is €750+ as more elements are checked and replaced.

Yeap, I'm due for the 50 000km service. They did the coils and changed the brake fluid last time and I need to get the plugs done this time.

Looks like Joe Duffy is the place to go. Not really around my area (Dublin 24) but it's not a problem if they provide a replacement car.
    Thanks everybody.

Might be a bit out of your way but give Newcastle Mazda a buzz in Wicklow. Free replacement car and they DO know their RX-8's.

Another +1 for Joe Duffy Mazda. Had a great experiece with them. I didn't get a replacement car but only because they didn't have one available and said if I was willing to wait a week they'd happily give me one.

Another -1 for MSL on NCR. I felt like I was an inconvience to them

MSL are overpriced and the service is appaulling, no matter which one you're dealing with.. -10!!

shouldn't cost more than €400 unless the car needs new pads or discs, try Annesley Williams out near the airport, and spark plugs are a piece of piss to fit so dont be caught out on massive extra labour charges for fitting them, though the 4 plugs are dear enough

Call Bernard in Joe Duffy Mazda, he'll look after you. If you need a replacement that won't be an issue to get one straight away.

If need anything PM me, I work for the Group.
