Just been informed that it's a song by Tom Waits, but if anyone can shed any light on what song it was that'd be great.

I think it was "Blue Valentine" by the afore mentioned Tom Waits....

Great song by one of the best singer/songwriters of the 20th Centurary...

the man is up there with Woodie Guthrie, Cohen and Dylan
