final cut making independant clips?

hey guys im using final cut express i have an edited section of video that i want to make a clip on its own i have it all selected right click and hit make independant clip but i dont see anything happening anyone know what im doing wrong? thanks

i dont use final cut much(i use premiere) but is there an option to export clip?
