has anyone done the missing android quest in rivet city?

after you find pinkerton and return to zimmerman or the "missing android" if u goto the android first, you get one of the best guns in the game, after you convince him he is an android.

then you can say you will kill zimmerman for him, and get permission to do this.

he then gives you an upgraded plasma rifle, thats worth around 2k in barter mode.

you can then return to zimmerman and get the perk reward off him for finding the android, i think it adds stats to ur VATS accuracy, then you blow zimmermans head off after the dialogue finishes as he starts walking off towards the android, you'll have to kill his bodyguard aswell, but you get the best of the 2 rewards for each person if you complete it this way

the gun is simply crazy good, 1 shot melts people

I've been playing a good character but this quest is worth losing karma for. Time to pimp my character.

Sweet jesus i did that quest wrong didnt even get to talk to the android and got no reward.

One of the best things about this game is that all your diffrent skill can have Dialog actions that give you diffrent senarios examples being
When bigtown comes under threat from supermutants and they asked for my help I had 3 options dont help kill the muties myself or due to my small arms skill train them to defend themselves. Its things like that make this game of the year for me

I helped the town by repairing their robots, which then killed any supermutants nearby. Science is a must have imo.

I really want to buy this but I am quite sick at the moment and can't really make it to the shops. I'm pretty tempted to get it off steam but its $60, how does that compare the the PC version in lets say Game or Virgin?

You don't get a box, a disc or a manual. I personally wouldn't go for steam since if steam were ever to fold up, you couldn't use your game. If you're in a hurry for it, you can get next day delivery from www.gamesnash.com
I haven't used them myself, but I've heard good things about them. Pricewise, that's €40 (ex postage) vs €47 from steam. You can get it cheaper in other places but not as fast.

Where is Bigtown and Ardale, need a map on the net that shows everything :(

    where do you live?

you could order it off gamesnash or i could buy a copy and bring it out to you if you're near.

Out of curiosity, how do I find alex from "the family".

I found the family, and got a bit of a fright when I met the two ghoul members you meet first, and naturally, I shot both of them in the face until they died from it. So unfortunately I had to proceed to kill EVERY member I met, losing karma along the way, and robbing the place blind.

Can I actually complete this quest now, every member of the family is dead.

I got as far as a locked door, I will need 100 science to open, I'm guessing I didnt have to kill them all, and they would have released yerman.

Pity they were so ugly and armed, I might not have opened fire.

This was early on in the game for me, so I was used to raiders and insane survivors, not npc's with names that talked, so I reacted accordingly.

Picked this up at long last this afternoon and had a quick blast of it. Very impressed by what I've seen so far (childhood is very well done) and also the fact you can blow anyone away
I blew the head off butch when he came to ask me to help his mother :D
    . Is he needed?

I gave him a chance and then a short while later he starts shooting at me. Dirty knacker :D

Hmm, I gave him the bb gun and he was delighted, said I was his best friend, and gave me
a tunnel snakes jacket +5 melee
    .

When do you get to offer him that? Also can anybody tell me how to bring up inventory (xbox 360)? I'm running around with no pants on :)

lol, b button, the scroll to inventory and apparel.
I told him to help his mother himself, offered him the gun, helped him, then he offered the jacket.

    I fcuking love this game.

I killed yer ones dad, threatened him then beat and shot him to death, oh how she screamed.

And its not messing either, they are proper ways of clearing the game, I'm gonna replay this sucker some day, still have to do all my side quests and explore.

    My fav bit so far.
Some lad outside Rivet city asked for water. Ok I thought where is this going. Offered him some rancid water but he wouldn't drink that. Gave him some decent water. Then he just asks for some more. Got genuintely pissed off so I blew his head off in one shot with a rifle.

I've reloaded the game after I
Destroyed the Enclave base by talking the 'president' into destroying himself and blowing up the base
and have gone exploring from there.

Anyone else really enjoy manually aiming the hunting rifle and picking off enemies at range?

    Its so satisfying.

And the chi-ching sound you get as you gain xp when they die, really adds to the satisfaction of a head hit with that gun.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,960 ✭✭✭DarkJager

How do you find the manual aiming in general Stercus? I tried it earlier but it feels a lot more "floaty" than standard fps..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

Its tough, but I have an xbox, and I've always liked their control sticks for fps games.

While this game is flawed in that regard, being very careful and practising the aiming can get you better at it, saying that, I use vats all the time for enemies, only manually aiming if I'm sure it wont get me killed.

I'm guessing you do know its an RPG at heart, albeit first person. Much like Deus Ex. Your aim is determined by your stats and not your mastery of the stick/mouse.

    Yep
Especially when its a good distance away, you fire the rifle - 2 second pause - then you get the "cha ching"

Alas, a bit too much fun as im pretty much out of the ammo

Only played for 2 hours the other day when i first bought it.
Ever since when i try to boot up the game i get an error saying fallout 3 has stopped working blah blah blah.
Ive tried some things mentioned on official forums but still no joy.
My comp is fully up to date and high spec.

Enjoying it so far but bloody hell the random crashes are annoying. Played it for about 50mins and it crashed. Checked for a patch, installed it and it crashed again after about 10mins more play.

Playing this on the xbox atm. Havnt been online since the night before it was released...

Fantastic video game... I mean ffs, its just a computer game... So big etc..

    Loving it.

Never played Oblivion either, so I guess its even more appealing to me.

I decided to start a Nuka-Cola collection as I was coming across a decent amount of the things...

Much to my amazement when I found yer wan who also has one...
There is only room for one collection in my wasteland honey.... sorry
