Obamarama all the way. As to be expected I suppose. I'm not a big fan of (retarded) US politics but a black man in the White House will set a wonderful precedent. I feel the same way about this as I did when England were welcomed to Croker last year during the 6 Nations. A big fat line under a nation's complex, and sometimes painful, history. Something worth embracing.

We wont "Know" until some time tomorrow. The exit poll predictions should be wrapped up before morning.

As for the senate race, CNN is already predicting a democratic majority.

It's allot closer than I thought it would be. Overall it's still pretty 50/50.

Obama ahead by a good bit IMO right now and a clear lock for this one.

Tone of the reasons why I don't like these projections.

People in the US are sitting at home, watching this, and they assume that these are the results.

So, why should they go and vote?

The TV told me he had won, so I came straight home from work.

I hate projections. It is fine in a country that only has one time zone - sometimes. But in the US, the first states to vote close their voting 6 hours before the last states.

Go and vote if you live in the US!!!

Actually, always vote, if you can - one vote could change things.

I know, I can relate. I was driving home from work and BBC had called PA for Obama on the radio. Given the call being that early, I figured it was a done deal and had a very strong urge to say 'screw it. I'm in CA, it won't make a whit of difference, i'll just go home and check email.'

However, there are still the State issues to vote over, so I puckered up and swung by.

    NTM

Nah, forget the line. I'm going to bed. *wipes sweat from brow*

McCain's speech was incredibly magnanimous. Let's hope the US sorts itself out.

As of 11PM EST, Senator Barrack Hussein Obama of Illinois has been declared unanimously to be the President Elect of The United States of America.

Senator John McCain delivered his concession speech just a few minutes ago.

That speech from McCain was the first time I have seen him at ease and relaxed while speaking in a long time.

A pity about those boos though.

Even more news: The Democrats have Retained their Majority in the House of Congress and The Senate.

    ......I'm a little scared.

Remember what happened when the Republican-Right had no holds barred control of washington? Same thing could happen with the Democratic-Left.

Yeah, but sure everyone knows that only the Republicans are capable of making bad decisions.

Someone finally got the Concession speech uploaded from Senator McCain. He seemed glad to be able to throw in the towel on what was to be a campaign that went entiely against his character.

On Fox someone said that sources close to McCain has felt for some time that Obama should win.

That concession speech shows pretty much everything I like about McCain.

I see they cut off the bit where he placed the blame at the feet of Overheal.
    Can't say I disagree.

Senator Barrack Hussein Obama of Illinois has been declared unanimously to be the President Elect of The United States of America.

    Unanimously?

A few million people voted the other.

As the priest in the church I was at over the weekend said in his sermon, the electorate becomes trained over the course of a few months and millions of dollars in advertising to see the negative in the other side, not the positive. An environment of distrust and hate.

Heard a few people saying that if the rest of his campaign was like that concession speech, he would have been a lot tougher to beat.
