    Anyone out there ever do that? A few examples of my silly misinterpretations are as follows;

Neil Diamond's 'Forever in blue jeans'..... I was singing 'for Reverend Blue Jeans'. I thought it was about some kind of cool priest.
The Police's 'Material world' where they sing '...are spirits in a material world', I thought was 'upstairs in a material world'.
Snoop Dogg and Justin Timberlake's 'Signs' where Snoop sings 'You ain't no G'....I was merrily singing 'you better go change':D
George Michael's 'Fast Love' when he says 'if that's love in your eyes' I was wailing 'fast love in your eyes'.
'Champagne Super Nova' was misterpreted by my friend as 'Champagne's takin' over'.
I sincerly hope there are others out there to add to this thread or I'll look like a total tit.:D

Always thought it was "I would do anything for love but I won't do scat!". Man, was my face red when I sang that song at Karaoke.

You are not alone - I used to pelt out words that made no sense or reference in song - "how was I" for how bizzare  - all can think of at moment. Ive giving up singning :)

I always thought the words were:
"Billly Jean is not my brother"

In 'Billie Jean' when he says 'but the kid is not my son', I thought was 'but there's a chance that that's my son'-changes the whole meaning of the song. In 'Beat it', he says 'no one wants to be defeated'. Up 'til recently I thought it was 'No one wants to beat it beat it' and in 'the way you make me feel' he says 'you really turn me on', I thought was 'you really turn me good'.:o

I used to think that the lyrics to TLC's ''Chasing Waterfalls'' were ''Don't go, Jason Waterfalls....", that they were asking this Jason bloke not to leave them! :pac:

Hated my teacher for this one.

l am 6 and she tells me to sing Jingle Bells to the class.

Unknown to the other kids she had heard me singing it to myself in the run up to Christmas.

So l get up and sing.

Jingle Bells Jingle Bells , Jingle all the way.
Oh what fun it is to ride on a one horse soap and sleigh.

:DYou'd get a fair old slide there sharpshooter. My son thought ACDC were singing 'SUNDAY!!' instead of 'THUNDER!!' in the intro to 'Thunderstruck'.

    Remember seeing this years ago:

    http://www.kissthisguy.com/

It's an archive of commonly misheard lyrics.

My friends one was "Climb every woman" for "I'm every woman"... I think it's one of the best I've ever heard!

I've just remembered another one- the Beegee's 'Stayin' Alive'. I used the chorus was "Stabilize! Stabilize!" I used to wonder what the fup they were on about.:pac:

I always remember "Falco" an Austrian singer from 1986. I coudn't make head nor tail of his lyrics - in "Rock me Amadeus" there was a line which sounded like "Shooting common bubbles she's a mongrel c*nt" (at 1:14 here)and in "Vienna Calling" one that sounded like "I need to sh*t tonight" (at 2:07 here). It was some time later it was pointed out to me his lyrics were in German - no wonder!

Please don't mock me but I always thought that Ronnie K was singing:

Youshay it besht whin hugh shay nuttin a-tall.

    - That head cold has gone on for well over a decade :(

So it isn't just me then! I used think that too, until I said it to a friend one day...

Another one was that song by U2

    actual: electrical storm

    heard: electric toaster

It was only last week that I realised that the lyrics to Keane's song were 'Oh Crystal Ball, Crystal Ball' and not 'Oh Chris De Burgh, Chris De Burgh'.

I used to think that the phrase "Universally Speaking" wasn't in the RHCP song of the same name. I did think that he said "Universe, a lispy king" at some stage. When questioned by my wife, I told her as much. Oh how she laughed.

Haha- just read this one- "might as well face it you're addicted to love" was heard as "might as well face it you're a di*k with a glove"

He thought it was about Mickey J!!! Priceless!

In Scar Tissue by Red Hot Chili Peppers, for "with the birds I'll share this lonely view", I always hear "We built a shed, so long live you".

That he had it at the five and dime didn't sound odd?

I always heard it as "with birds of shed its a long live you"...which doesn't make sense at all...

Kings of leon are a fecker for this due to Calebs strong Southern accent.

We were listening to Milk one night and we thought he was saying either:

    Salty beef
    Salt n cheese
    soul delete
