    A programming questons forum.
    [1] I post a question
    [2] Someone posts an answer
    [3] I look for a clarification
    [4] New answer
    [5] New clarification
    etc.

BUT When the question is answered the OP (see what I did there) reorganises the question and answer so that there is one long question and one long answer.

    Any interest?

I think that partly defeats the purpose of a discussion forum.

One of the best things about having so many people is that there's so many answers and opinions.

What you're describing is typical of how an FAQ evolves. It might suit some threads especially stickies but I don't think it's really necessary.
