Wasn't the same once said about electricty? And complete bollix that turned out to be!

Who said electricity was bollix? Electricity was an observable phenomenon, eventually harnessed, studied and reproduced by people with scientific minds. It is and always has been a quantifiable form of energy. People who talk about "energy" or "frequencies" with the intention of selling books are making a mockery of real words with real scientific meanings in an attempt to prey on people who don't know any better. Making the comparison between electricity and this pseudoscience is ridiculous.

Wait, wait, are we not using the laws of physics or gravity anymore? Can I fly! *takes a running jump out the window*

Listen buddy - I've got a bottle of dolphin tears here that says differently.

It'll take care of that arthritis, ME, backache, insomnia and the clap. It's yours for only 49.99!

I just stick the whole lot rice and all in the kettle and boil it up. (Tip: Keep the button held down to stop it turning off.) It's usually ready in less than 3 minutes. It's not instant but it's faster than waiting for it to be portioned out by the cosmos.

While I don't hate Pierce Brosnan - it's hardly one of his better films that you're basing your whole theory around.

if you think that **** is only for american women you really oughta take a look around an irish bookshop, compare the size of the self help/spiritual sections to the science section.

    scary stuff.
Scary indeed. It was aimed intially at american women, but now its gone global

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

How is it my theory, mate?

I posted what it said in the book. I didn't write it.

    It's called a debate!

If wanting to see people's opinions on things suddenly turns into a sucky theory - well alrightee then! I've already said that I don't know what I believe. Always a strong base for a theory, eh!

Sounds like Noel Edmunds positive thoughts thing ie ,' if you really want something so bad you only have to wish for it ' ......i wish but i go along with positive thinking in that it refelects what state you are in at a time and will attract others who are like minded ,happens to me often .

Pacman implies sarcasm and/or irony of a light-hearted nature.

The secret scares me... not because i think it possesses some magical power, but rather because they have wrapped up a book on positive thinking - something recognised to be a fairly good idea for quite a long time - as a newly discovered secret.

It also seems to suggest you can have whatever you want... I'm not sure that's a great idea.

The trailer for the Secret video is even worse than the cloyingly american book.

all that science stuff sounds like it could make sense but i don't think most people could be arse findin out really :D

For most people i know it works much more basically.

If you think positive your a positive person (in most cases anyway) so the bad stuff will seem less significant and u won't fear failure too much.

A negative person can't bounce back as easily and therefore is less likely to take a risk which may hinder success

thats my take on it anyway.
