Rabo are grand for saving with and some current account stuff but no ATM access to your money in Ireland with them...it's the one thing I fault them for, since they have ATMs on the continent...oh and they have no branch facilities here either, which is what you're after...

fek that so.. i'll look into halifax. unless someone wants to be my bitch and run to bank for me occasionally? :p

Rabo's meant to be a purely online savings account. Anytime you want to transfer money out, you can sign in and transfer it to your current account at a different bank. As far as savings accounts go, they're a lot more flexible then most other banks in terms of how much you can lodge and withdrawal. I've had a savings account with them for about 2-3 years and it's worked great. You can sign in at anytime and see how much interest you've racked up.

But getting back on topic, opening hours for banks aren't great here but with online banking you hardly ever need to darken the door of a bank. However, on the odd occassion I might need to go to a bank to lodge a cheque and I can visit a local branch during work but I know what it's like to work in the middle of nowhere with no banks around.

well i want it for changing account status, gettin rid of overdraft facility, getting new credit card, applying for personal loan and thats between 2 banks.. i'm too far away to go at lunch and i can get off work to do stuff lik that too often.

someone said ebs on a saturday?

I've done all three things with AIB in the past year. Changing account status and applying for overdraft over the phone. Credit card online.

I imagine most banks offer the same.

The only time the regular joe actually needs to call into a branch these days is when they want to speak to someone about something (Financial advise, getting a mortgage, complex loan etc.)

what about applying for a mortgage, what about seeing a financial advisor.

There are loads of things you can't do online.

Ah yes, something sorely missing from online banking systems, the ol get a mortgage button! :pac:
