I wouldn't use his reviews as a basis to buy or avoid a game. Anyway most Bionic Commando gamers probably loved the original and couldn't care less.

A few of mates never played the NES game and have fallen in love with Rearmed.
The thing is... there was a conversion of the arcade version of Bionic Commando on the C64. I was disappointed that Rearmed was a remake of some NES sequel.

The arcade game and the C64 bionic commando are pretty average. I'm glad they did the nes game, it's far better.

The Nes version won't get my nostalgia gland pumping though. I used to play that game a lot on the C64.

Indeed there was, another game I wasted hours on. Listening to the clip it feels like it was only yesterday I played it, the C64 had the best in game music at the time. I remember even recording some of them onto tape to play back at my leisure.

Following a dangerous trend that the Too Human review started of an average review with a great last 10 seconds. Wasn't too enamoured

I liked that one. Actually made think the game might be worth a try which the online reviews didn't.

An Irish chopper pilot who runs away when the enemy throw anything bigger then a scone at him

I lol'd over the bugs he mentioned because they did sound genuinely funny

Yeah very funny review this week, & for as much as he was bashing it he kept referring to it as fun

He so right with the "But I might need it later" ethic

I am such a victim to this, doesn't matter what game I always hoard as much resources as possible using the smallest weapon possible in order to preserve the big 'f- off' guns
    and then the game ends...

I had the helicopter pad problem too. You think, hey a helipad perfect place to bring in the commandos, and then they all walk off the edge and fall six bloody feet to their deaths. :pac:

This was my favourite in a long time. His Lucas-bashing in particular was hilarious.

Your loss, it's a damned immersive game and well worth a shot.

Accurate review, though, it's pretty rough around the edges, and murderously hard.

I played SOC and I just lost interest, the storyline was nonexistant most fo the time even if the environments and atmosphere was amazing. It did give me one of the finest "oooooh sh*t f**k f**k f***k runrunrun" moments that i ever experienced in a game
