Can I point out you can find the flash files in yer temp internet files [on IE anyway, not sure where they are stored FF/Opera. halp? IE7 is more awkward to find the files]

You can copy and paste the .flv files soemwhere and there's software to convert them to avi etc etc for use on mp3 players or whatever.

Spore this week. Sums up my thoughts on the game nicely.
    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Haven't played anything beyond the creature creator but his humour was a bit off on this one I think. He sounded like he had a cold or something and that long no went on for about ten seconds too long.

    He's right.

My daleks can't really compete with batman..... dammit. Now i have to stop loving this game.

    Or do *I*?

Spore, a game I couldn't care less about just doesn't exist. Even Yahtzee's usual comic gems can't raise an emotion beyond "meh" :( Having said that, his podcast on australiangamer was far more scathing of the game.

Yes, sorry I phrased that wrong; he guests on Australian Gamer's podcast from time to time. This is the one where they talk about Spore:

    heh,

    I still hasn't played spore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,371 ✭✭✭✭Zillah

I thought the review was spot on and as funny as usual.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

It was a review of the game which was rather accurate - one must remember that he's here to review games first and entertain us second.

Also, the podcast is funny cause they're drunk. <3 drunk podcasts.

I would say the exact opposite. He's there for the laughs, not to be a serious game reviewer.
Personally, if I was thinking about getting a game, good or bad, I wouldn't take anything he says into account. I'd go look at review sites I trust, metacritic and get a demo if I could.

I believe if you get the warez version to check this out and then buy spore because you liked it it will not work for you because your machine will know. EA shot themselves in the foot there.

    I'll stop you there.

Must get around to Castle Crashers - seems like the kind of game he likes (based on the fact he says something positive about it) yet still feels obliged to rip apart. Most others seem to enjoy it too.

But I do agree with him partially about Bionic Commando. Never played the game as a kid, so the trial version didn't appeal to me all as much as others (even though it was enjoyable in a backwards sort of way). The upcoming 3d version sounds more impressive, as long as they sorted out the control issues.

I agree with him about Mario and Zelda :pac:

Seemed funny enough, but wouldn't know cos I don't own a Xbox :D

I didn't play Bionic Commando as a kid but my first thought playing the new one was "How do you jump?"

He liked Castle Crashers I think and as usual when he likes a game the review is not as funny.

If I didn't know he was just giving these games bad reviews for the sake of it I'd be very mad! Bionic Commando is fantastic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,132 ✭✭✭silvine

I wouldn't use his reviews as a basis to buy or avoid a game. Anyway most Bionic Commando gamers probably loved the original and couldn't care less.

The thing is... there was a conversion of the arcade version of Bionic Commando on the C64. I was disappointed that Rearmed was a remake of some NES sequel.

God... the SID Chip was awesome....

This guy can't play for sh*t though...
