I stocked up on Avoca peanut butter (crunchy) today and also got a jar of Kelkin (aso crunchy). My wife and I both did blind tests on both products and both of us preferred the Avoca product and found the Kelkin product saltier. Having said that, the Kelkin was very good and there wasn't much in the difference.
Should probably be on the food and drink forum, but....
Just to throw another brand into the pot (sorry for the early morning pun) my SQ didn't have any Kelkin for a change, so given the feedback on this thread, I figured I'd try a different brand and bought some Whole Earth Crunchy Organic peanut butter.

It's actually surprisingly good. Completely different consistency (smashed up peanuts, rather than butter with lumps) which you can see just by looking at the above picture. Ingredients are essentially the same as the Kelkin (so not as good as Avoca), but slightly healthier than the Kelkin brand. Tastes really good. Cost less than three euro, for 227g. It also says on the label:
"Contains peanuts. May also contain traces of nuts". :)

Wow. I've never eaten peanut butter in my life. Am I a freak or has everyone else gone crazy?
I must be too traditional. I keep eating Old Time Irish orange marmalade sandwiches with cheddar cheese. (I know that adding cheese is a bit odd but it works!)

To answer your initial question: Definitely the former;)

Thats it. I'll pop into Avoca on Saturday and sample this peanut butter stuff. I'll even bore you all with a review. Will it take 5 mins of my marathon time?
