Polar HRM service centre

    Does anyone know if there is a service centre for Polar in Ireland? Do you have to send the HRM away to the UK for a battery change? My previous polar drowned after I attempted a battery change on my own.

    Has to go to UK. Generally back in your posession in under 5 days.

    Did you contact them and just post it over, or did you have to go through a LBS?

    Local jewellery shop changed my Polar battery in Stillorgan last month. 8 Euro, 5 minutes.

    Mine failed to turn on after I changed the battery at the weekend, have contacted Polar UK and will have to send it back, is still under the 2 yr warranty. I have a CS200 and it appears that this is a common issue.

    Depends on the model.

    S625x or anything like it and the jewellers will kill your watch. May *look* okay for a couple of weeks, but its dead. Takes a while for the damage to become apparent. Been there, killed one.

    Patience - 1 week over
    Even if repair is immediate
    Still 1 week back.

    Good tip for future - registered post for peace of mind.

    Oh yeah, whichever way you want. I'm happy that the local jeweller can pop off a watchback replace a battery. Ain't rocket science........or is it?

    They do the sealing resealing in a vaccum and a few other things.

    If a jeweller changed your S- series watch battery. You're watch is dead :)
