Ok, got the form this morning. Just need to collect 15 signatures now. If anyone wants to sign it would it be a hassle to meet in the students union in Aungier st. On tuesday?

Sound like a good idea, would be a slightly more relaxed environment for the various basement bands in DIT to get out there and start gigging:)

Hi there

It's the DIT Societies Office. Delighted to see this tread on setting up a Gig Soc. We havent had any official documents that you want it to go ahead.

With the Clubs and Socs sign up days next week I am concerned it will be a missed opportunity. Is has not been confirmed if the Kevin St Music Society is restarting. Either way there is a need for a vibrant gig soc / music soc in DIT. funding is based on the membership level and the planned activities.
There is also extra funding available to run The DIT battle of the Bands and other types of Large events/ activities for recognised societies.

A start up form needs to be submitted

There is plenty of support and training event which is an overnight trip.

Please contact us to get this society off the ground. It would be ashame if this type of sociey didnt feature next week and get off to a good start.

Currently in my first year of computer science in Kevins Street so the hours are fine.

I'll fill the form out this weekend, i'm not in monday so Itll have to be tuesday. Does 1pm suit people? Looking for all sorts, musicians without bands and with bands. People with a love for rock music, people who want to help organise events or manage accounts, something for everyone really. I'll make a poster tomorrow. Rock Soc, let's crank Dit up to 11

Hi there
We put a provisional date of the 27th so we would know what new societies would be signing up during the festival. The 7th is the final date so new societies can attend training on the 10th of October.

Right GigSoc is up and running! We'll have stands in Aungier St and Kevin St tomorrow so hope you all join up:D Also if anyone wants to help out at the stands, or if you have a good poster design pm me. I know this is a bit short notice but its the best we could do:p

Excuse me I was there at 1 for quite some time at the SU by the stairs just like I said I would. I got 16 signatures, only one from boards

As wel as this I'd filled out everything pretty much, calling it rocksoc I wanted to broaden it to doing things like organizing Lessons for people wanting to learn instruments etc as well as having people from Event Management, Media and Photography getting in on the act.

And I presume you'd know more about tomorrow than me then?

Well there are two tables, one in Kevins street and one in aungiers. Meeting at 10 in the Aungiers students union. Just come and we'll sort out the mess there, merge the sheets or something.
