I'm doing more gigs with a guitar worth far more to me than its monetary value and am putting together a recording set up that will fit in a bag that I'll be carrying round the country a fair bit. That's €6k plus in two small cases that have nice handles perfect for thieving little c*nts to wrap their stickies around and walk away with before anyone can say CCTV.

So, insurance for the gear we love, need and adore. Who's got it, who are you getting it from, how much are you paying and what do you get for that?

Anything that's movable-aroundable is extremely difficult to insure. There are UK companies who specialise is it but I don't expect they'd do it over here.

I have home insurance with FBD which covers the content of the flat as well as all-risk for certain items (i.e. gear) outside of it.

If you generally keep your stuff at the same place you are living you can go this route.

Getting stuff insured that is generally kept at a rehearsal space is a far tougher one and also a lot more expensive.

I also believe it is impossible to get equipment coverd for fire & theft while iin transit. Most or all commercial van policies will not cover any contents unless you have some kind of courier policy.
