people who use the word 'gee' should be shot in the face with bullets.

I remember reading recently about one lady on boards who wouldn't have minded being shot all over the face. Her name escapes me.

Nah I wss just randomly setting forums to all pages and picking random pages like 121 and I read some thread about cum shots. Didn't really notice the original OP and I don't even remember the forum. PI maybe? Was very funny too :D Some of the older stuff on boards was very good. Like moderation was more lax and people more mental!

    It's all about context, isn't it ...

That would have knocked me for six as well.

On the other hand, I'm slagging with a couple of friends, get a low blow in, and get told to "fvck off, ya cnut", and I would take it more as an acknowledgment of the point scored than as any kind of insult.

Mr Bean is a silly "Cúnt" as this was mass debated not more than a few months back.

    Mie.

Ah, in fairness, Mike, a few months is a long time to go without mass debating ...

Hmmm ... sounds vaguely familiar, all right. Tina? Tara? ... yeah, Tara something or other, I think. :pac:

I always wonder how any word can be inherently offensive. The C word is just a monosyllabic word, like prat. Yet one is harmless and the other gives strokes to most Americans.

    Cunts give strokes?

I would have thought it was the other way round ...

It's a pity that words such as S., F. and C., which are just part of life, are seen as obscene, but no newspaper would dream of sticking asterices into the words "murder", "rape", "torture".

Originally they weren't considered rude e.g. the wheatear (a bird) was originally the whitearse.

Does anyone know if there are "naughty" words in Irish?

Of course, and in every language at a guess. I remember being taught a ripe selection in both Irish and Spanish as a kid. Can't remember them now though ... :(

There's never a time when that word can't be used!

"Is my cúnting dinner ready, love?"
"That cúnt from next door have stolen our bins again"
"Does anyone else get that faint whiff of eau de cúnt?"

Personally, I don't find it offensive, maybe it's an age thing. Sure fúck was once really offensive and they let that slide in films, etc. nowadays.

The word **** always reminds me of this scene from one of the best films I've ever seen - so many gems in there!

Oh, genius film - thanks for the link! :)

I don't have a problem with the word - it is only a word after all. I get a bit annoyed when people get offended by it - I don't associate it with the female genitalia at all unless it's used to refer to it specifically. Even then, so what?
I don't over-use it as it's only suited to extreme cases (imo) but I find it a great word when it's required. It sounds very coarse all right though - particularly when females use it (un-PC and all as that sounds).
