Sorry if in wrong forum but couldn't do a poll in politics

    Taken from Rte.ie

The Green Party is gathering in Tralee, Co Kerry, this morning for a two-day meeting ahead of the resumption of the Dáil.
Ministers, TDs, senators and local councillors will meet in the Fels Point Hotel for the seminar before the Dáil resumes next week.
Now well into its second year of coalition, the party will look at how to strengthen its role in Government, including how to pursue a carbon tax and how to win more seats at next year's European and local council elections.

If the Carbon Tax was Brought in

You've no poll option for people who didn't vote for them in the first place.

    Also, it's spelt government.

    +1

And it's spelled spelled, unless you're a Septic Tank. Spelt is a type of grain.

No and I didn't vote for them in the first place either.

I also think the political parties in this country are total and utter shyte.

Fine Fail, Fine Gael, Labour, Green Party = All the same, very little if anything these days to even differentiate between them all.

Sinn Fein could've been different but instead farked it all up trying to fit in with the rest so arse to them too.

Who'se left ? Hmm, PD/Nazi's are finished, though who the feckin' hell ever voted for them in the first place other than inbreds.

Socialist and other communist type parties = Really, gtfo, not gonna happen, ever. Joe Higgins I have to say though was great to listen too but the ideals of it all are twisted, old and have always failed miserably.

If it's all the same as it was or is now come the next election - I might even consider not bothering my arse at all to even vote as i would have NOBODY to vote for. That or I'm spoiling my vote with a cock drawing.

I agree on the latter part - I didn't vote last time because I believed no one deserved it. No one single candidate stood out that made me want to go and vote for them. I then got complained at about the fact that people died for the right to vote. Indeed, that is true, but those same people also died for freedom, justice et all, but the poiticians don't subscribe to those either. If I come across a politician, regardless of affiliation, that deserves the vote, I'll give it to them.

Never voted for the present government. Useless shower. Thought this was a casey thread, disappointing.

    Yes I would.

I think the alternative would be much worse. I have much more faith in Brian Cowen to lead our country than I have in Enda Kenny.

I've never voted FF, I don't understand how their still in power. Their corrupt money grabbing attention whores. FG are just as bad their like the cheap whore that will do anything to get you to pick them instead of the popular whore.

I always vote for socialists, independent or SF, Not so much to get them into power but to take the vote away from the whores that are normally in power.

I have absolutely no faith in any politician their all, without exception, corrupt attention seeking whores.

Yes, purely because there is no viable alternative. Enda Kenny as taoiseach, give me a break, he'd be a total embarressement. It's a sad state of affairs when the current government are the best we've got *shudders*

I blame the cluchies for this situation. How do people like Beverly Flynn, Michael Lowry, Jackie Healy Rae & his "mini-me", Enda Kenny, in all reality get elected again and again?

I don't think they are, the fact is we haven't given any other setup a chance. We're as bad as the Americans now. Two parties that call you a fool for voting for anybody else. It's amazing that these whores have the whole country wrapped around their finger while they drive this country into the ground.

Exactly, Labour or a Sinn Féin not led by Gerry Adams* should be given a chance.

*Nothing particularly against the man, but he's far too busy up north to realistically be Taoiseach.

We should set up a Boards party. We've got our fingers on the pulse. How could we lose?

    Baggsy Junior Vice President!

FF have become way too authoritarian for my liking.

Cowen is way too paternalistic, I don't think it's physically possible to be any worse, That's why at worst Enda kenny will be just as bad.

In the last few years, I learnt some very valuable lessons, the most valuable of them being that I've learnt to just my gut feeling.

My gut feeling tells me that Brian Cowen is completely out of his depth in the job, that he simply doesn't know what to do.

Mary Coughlan is hopelessly lost in her brief, she comes acorss as smug and condasending, between the two of them there isn't a shred of vision.

Imagine if we had a leader who inspired people, who made people talk about the new business they were starting up or the positive things they are doing in their lives, instead of sharing discussion with you of everything that is wrong with the country at the moment???

If I was taoiseacht, around 3 months ago, I would have voluntarily imposed a 10% pay cut on myself and every cabinet minister, effective immediately. Anyone who wasn't happy, no cabinet position. I'd have followed that up with a pay freeze, both public and private, for 24 months, exceptions none.

I'd open up the Dublin Bus market and allow private bus operators compete with Dublin bus. This would save a fortune, no more government capital expenditure required for new Dublin Bus stock and a couple of hundred jobs created as well, which means more income tax.

I'd open up the Irish rail network, more PAYE jobs, more licence money and bettter public service. If the unions didn't like it, grand, fu*k off then.

I'd replace the County Enterprise Boards with a numerous boards of actual business people who I could go to and pitch for seed capital which would allow myself and others who are in the business of creating jobs, to do so. In all reality, what would a fu*king political apointee to a County Enterprise board know about enterprise!?!?!

Nope. Though I'm not sure who I would vote for. If there was a Social Democrat party, with policies akin to the Scandinavian countries, I'd vote for them. A Social Democrat country with <common sense> Green leanings.

If you insist on correcting people's spelling and/or grammar, make sure you use the correct spelling/grammar in your post.

That would be "you're" not your!

Same with apologize/apologise but you won't catch me using the former any time soon...

Think we shouyld get all new people...

Heeck the woman running for vice president in the U.S in only in politics in Alaska a few months... If they reacon she's fit to go for presidency (or vice p) then i certainly am...

All hail ME!! :D I dont charge tax... just get jobs and we all get along. Do whatever you want once you dont break the law (my laws) or suffer my wrath.

Reacon public flogging and hanging, drawing & quartering would be a good start... ooooh, and extra flogging for those who question my genius or wear Ugg boots (so last season and they look horraible wet- what with all the rain)

Honestly folks, this country deserves so so so much more than what we are getting from the current government. I've never seen a situation in this country before where so many people needed decent leadership... We could do so much more if there was decent leadership...

But the thing is they get the job done. They make promises, either to fix a road or school that's been ignored by the Dublin government and they actually do what they where elected to do. Happy campers all round. They may never do a days work again in their life's but the people that elected them see job done and vote for them again.
