    Hi,

I can’t understand why guys who say they like good music and dancing still bother to go to Dublin nightclubs.

In clubs: you pay a fee at the entry, music is bad: usually British Pop, 80’s or 90’s music or R& B, drinks are expensive and you are never sure to get in.
People just go there for posing with their glass and meet their mates.

Now look at late bars: there is no fee, the music is better, they close at 2H30 or 3H00 AM, you will never be turned out by the bouncers and there is enough space to dance.

If you have the groove in your blood and love dancing you go to late bars not to night clubs.

    So which do you prefer?

Ahhh but the thing is with late bars, people don't really tend to dance, nor is there much of a dancefloor to begin with!

I like struttin my stuff on a BIG floor along with all the other tipsy revellers :D

Late bar for me, every time.

Also a lot of night clubs will do drinks promotions which late bars never do. So you might have to pay a fiver in, but then you don't have to spend nearly as much inside if there's 2.50 drinks on!

I like both tbh. It depends on whether I want to get dolled up and deal with getting hit on or just go somewhere mellow and hang out.

Can't believe I'm gonna say this but.....

...... Mullingar has ROCKIN nightclubs... Shocking, we walked into some place, looked like a dive and there was smoke machines, lasers and a DJ that couldn't mix for **** but was playing good songs.

Only downside was I was told to calm down while standing in the beer garden :S

i must be getting old, much rather a late-bar to a nightclub. music too loud in nightclubs... all conversation is gone out the window. im a ****e dancer anyway so no need to "Go dancing"

So am I, but there's something about the combination of a few cocktails and "Don't Leave Me this Way" coming on that makes a girl lose all inhibitions :D

all depends what im in the mood for, 'if i feel like getting down with my hip self ill go to a happening club were all my b-boys are at'

but late bars always seem to be where the best laugh is at, too many photos going off in nightclubs and you know that those photos are going straight up on bebo the next day, plus a lot of underagers seem to go to the nightclubs, only for the purpose of taking photos of themselves all night, late bar for me but i do enjoy a good night club

Just in the interest of fairness, OP, would you mind also starting a thread entitled:

    "Womens Attitudes in Latebars"

    Thanks

    Poll?

Depends on the music and the crowd. Generally I find a lot of **** end up in shiny late bars dancing to chart music.

I prefer my dingey nightclub with some drum and bass

All depends on the music. If it's playing cool music, I don't care either way.

And i used to look up to you as a kid Zach! Kelly was so hot.

OT, definitely late bars. My general rule is if there is a queue and the bouncers are giving anyone grief why hand over 100-200 quid inside?

Bars are for drinking, clubs are for dancing, I haven't been to a niteclub in years, got to love 24 hour bars :D

i hate nightclubs. music is too loud and there is usually a lot of scumbags in them.

late bars have a better atmosphere and you can have a proper conversation with friends rather than shouting into each others ears.

I like to mix it a bit. A late bar's great when you're out with people you haven't caught up with for ages, a nightclub's better when it's the usual weekly gang... the music in both, however, tends to be awful. If you know what you're looking for musically though, personally I'm usually looking for House or some heavy Rock (odd combo I know), there's some great music to be had around.

That's your own fault for going to tacky clubs.
