    Evening Admiral

What would your choice in breakfasts be sir? Do you go for the fry up or cereal? Just curious. Globetrotters B&B do a lovely breakfast. Nicely laid out, like a hotel actually. Highly recommended.

    I concur.

By the way worst restaurant has to be Temple Bar Hotel. Supposed to be highly recommended and ended up being a huge let down. Pork has to be cooked thoroughly as it is difficult to digest. It wasn't.

Another vote for eddie rockets.. overpriced and not enough imo.
Not enough? Have we become so Americanised in our ways that 1/3 lb of mince in a beefburger does not suffice?

As for being over-priced, compared to McDonalds, perhaps. But then again you're getting a proper beefburger and not eating MRM in a bun.

Me? I like paying extra for the luxury of knowing that I'm not eating bovine rectal tissue.

    Eddies FTW.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but you're guaranteed nothing of the sort.
Unless Eddie's or anywhere else call the burger a "steak burger" and they would if they could.
You're getting ground up beef parts just like everybody else.
As for "luxury" in connection with Eddie rockets,i really think you need do broaden your culinary horizons a bit.

That Charlies place on Dame St.

I did hear a great story about Joel's restaurant that a lad I know told me.
He said that he was at a birthday there, the staff brought out a cake with candles in it, then the kid (who's birthday it was) blew out the candles.

The parents were then told that the cake would be put on the bill, the dad said it was a bit of a scam, refused to pay for it so the staff took it away to be brought out to another unsuspecting surprised birthday child.

Wonder if they wiped it down?

As far as bad service with bad food combined goes then The Hard Rock Cafe in Temple Bar takes some beating.

yep been in hard rock cafes in different parts of the world and dublin is by far the worst .....by the way im a chef read this tread carefully to make sure ive never worked in any of them places....food in ireland is prepared by unprofessional and untrained people. The only way this will change is by customers refusing to pay for crap.you would be hard pushed to find many irish workers in dublin restaurants.its such a shame because eating out should be a pleasure.Bring back the old days

A 1/3 of a pound of mince is only 5.3oz/132g. Not exactly belly-busting proportions there...

I actually quite like the atomic burger in Eddie Rockets.

Could handle one right now in fact!

At least when you eat McD's you feel sick about 30mins later but with Subways you normally feel sick a 1/4 the way into the sub.....

Was in there a few years ago and the place was filthy and the food was cold and disgusting, the plate, knife/fort and pint glass look like they have not been washed ever.

Also the only slightly hot waitress with any boobs bigger then a fried eye was a very pregnant one!?!?!?

And it top the day off NiN got there gear fecking due to the stage not need built to handle wind or rain {on solid backing} and there was forecasted thunder storms!?!?
    Hooters in Interlaken, Switzerland.
Waitress took our order without writing anything down.(Always a great start)
Came back ten minutes later to take drinks order.
Brought us (two people) one knife, one fork.
Starter (chilli con carne) arrived with no cutlery, bread arrived another ten minutes later.
Mains arrived while we were still eating starter. Starter bowl then sat beside us for duration of meal.
We both ordered chicken burgers and fries. Fries never came.
Asked her THREE times where fries were, first time it was clear she hadn't ordered them.
    Second time she just shrugged.
Third time she said it wasn't her fault, 'her station was so quiet all night' WTF?!
Fries arrived after we finished burgers.
I know it can be stressful waitressing but for fucks sake, ordering fries with the burger is hardly ****ing triathlon requirements.
Ran amok at the manager, got no discount.
    Cunts.

I love the meat ball sub but always feel sick before I finish it, do not stop my ordering it every few months....

no need to beat me to death. just feed me a few 'subs' and i'll probably keel over from the disgustingness of it all.

    shit bread
    shit fillings

all topped off with too much salt and grease. keep it.

I'm just amazed (and quite frankly worried) that there are people out there who consider Subway a restaurant...

You would have thought that somewhere that serves snail porridge and egg and bacon ice cream would be the worst, but apparantly not.

it is also meant to be the second best in the world as well:eek:

Havent ate in a partulary bad resaturant...may except a place in Puerto Rico..where a fecking cockroach hopped onto my side plate...only noticed when I went to get my knife and it was there. Was horrible. But was my own fault for eating on the outside bit, next to a fricken bush.

They gave you the wrong order. So what, it happens. You just politely point it out, they apologise and replace your order. Some people like to get indignant over nothing.

    Burgers there are excellent btw.

+1 That place is savage and i wouldn't go near a BK or McDonalds. You hit a very bad day or something else was a factor. Chicken burgers are made from strips of fillet. The burgers made of mince ala homemade. loads of salad stuff, nothing is processed crap in there.

That was very unfortunate. Have you noticed how big they can get? My first evening when I lived in Malta a giant cockroach was in the bathroom. I eventually got him out, and it cost me a smal plate which broke in the bath. Huge monsters they are.

They have a huge cockroach thing in Thailand they call a Mangda (Or something like that).

One landed on the table while we were having a meal at a friends. her mother picked it up, put it in the fire for about ten mintues and ate it. They are considered a delicacy out there.

It was about 6 inches long by the way.

Went to a restaurant in Bodrum, ordered our meal, then went to the bathroom. It was just a hole in the floor, floor was filthy, there was no toilet paper, no soap, and no running water in the taps! I ran out, food had arrived, hubby was eating food. I told him to leave the food, pay for it (it was cheap anyway) and get the f**k out of there which we did!

I had the best kebab ever in Bodrum. I didn't go to the jacks there though, wonder was it the same place?
