Recently The Beehive in Wicklow someplace (On the road to wexford), Poor food selection, unclean surroundings, and the most broken, wrecked toilets I've seen in a long time (There was actually a flood of water from a leaking pipe in the gents :D)

Fusion in Carrigstown is terrible. Owners a pr**k

Another vote for eddie rockets.. overpriced and not enough imo.

Agreed it's overpriced....but their cheese fries and big juicy burgers are LOVELY! (yummy mustard)

Haven't been to Empty Pockets in years, but I have to agree, there is something strangely appealing about their cheese fries. Ersatz, day-glo cheese sauce - so wrong, but yet so right.

The worst restaurant I was ever in is, without a doubt, Spur in Liffey Valley.

Havana Tapas Bar on Georges Street. The service is atrocious. The waiter couldn't speak English and not only that but he appeared to be slightly retarded. Then the food was just lazy crap.

Fusion 2 is opening in Smithfield, it is definitely going to be better.

That's the way Japanese food is served. There are no starters and mains per se. Food is cooked at once and served as it is cooked.
Ye rrright. In japan maybe. If you order 2 courses in most Irish japanese resturaunts they will not bring the main first if it can be cooked quicker than the starter..... and why is there a starter list if the service depends on cooking time?????

I ordered the same starter as one of the others, mine was appr 25min later arriving. The table beside us was filled after we arrived and were finished before I got my second course.

    The service is a disgrace.

The food is no great shakes either,,, and thats certainly not the Japanese way:D

sat just gone by got a take-out consisting of 2 starters from kens in maynooth, when i say i was sick i mean i was dying, was in docs on sunday, missed 2 repeat exams because of it and only today have i managed to eat something again, in saying that my friend had some of it and she was fine but she also went out of the beer big time so i think the alcohol she consumed killed any dodgy bacteria

nasty. A bunch of contaminated ham went out to a load of restaurants in the last few weeks (it was reported in the news I believe) - I think my poor girlfriend was a victim of it. In bits for a week and a half.

    Oh where to begin?

The worst meal of all time was one I had in a train station cafe in Malaga - I ordered the club sandwich and it was so foul I just took a photo of it and left. The chicken was grey, and it had 3 fried eggs in it that had been reheated in the microwave. The bread was stale and curling at the edges, and slathered in something that looked like the fat you drain off your minced beef. It was bad news. :)

In Dublin the worst meals I've had would echo somebody else here - Yamamoori on George's St. - appalling service and terrible food. I had pork dumplings and teriyaki steak and they were both inedible. Would never go back.

We once went for an anniversary meal in a restaurant that is now gone - I think there's a lap-dancing club there now on Dame Street. It might have been called Mezza Luna? Anyway, we had 3 courses and were rushed out within 45 minutes total. The servings were so paltry (enormous plate, with tiny portion of lumpy mash in the middle, topped by perhaps 50g of meat, and then drizzled in a "jus") was the style. We paid through the nose for it and learned a lesson!

The Westgrove hotel in Clane is a lovely place for food but wsa there recently and ordered Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas.

I got two lovely pieces of Cod and TWO chunky chips.

TWO CHIPS. I asked for the manager and he told me that's the way it is served.

Never order Fish and Chips there without asking for more chips!!

You haven't? There is so much more to chicken than just the fillet. Also, unless the menu stated fillet/breast of chicken, then what's the problem?

No I hadn't and neither had anyone else at the table.. Whatever about that then.. Still doesn't excuse the state of the salad...

Little venice on the airport road is an utter joke.
The cutlery was filthy, the water jug had bits of black stuff floating in it and all the orders when they eventually arrived were a)wrong and b) utterly horrible.Disgusting muck.
Graingers Pub in baldoyle used to have a great name for pub grub so i went in to check it out.We were kept waiting an hour on a mixed grill and an hour and ten minutes on a burger.
The mixed grill was charred to a crisp, even the fried egg and the "burger" was a lump of badly-formed mince with burned onions,no bun,no tomatoes,nothing.40 quid.
Frere Jaques just off dame st(not sure if its still there).Obnoxious, arrogant waiters, tutting and sighing as you order.Half the stuff on the menu wasnt available and what did arrive wouldnt cover a digestive biscuit.Nouvelle cuisine,over-priced muck. There were 20 of us in the place and we all felt hungry an hour after eating.
Gary rhodes place in mary's abbey.**** off with yer crap.A tiny steak for 22 quid and a handfull of soggy potato wedges for an extra 2.50.Wouldnt fill a mouse on hunger strike and didnt taste much either.Oh yeah..the starter called "ham of the bone" is actually a bowl of pasta with a few tiny cubes of processed ham on top.An utter disgrace.

    Mao.
bad enough that anybody would call a restaurant after a mass-murderer(arbiet macht fries anybody),but to see the uck they serve up is a double insult.
I dont remember what it was called but i got an overcooked chicken fillet in a bowl of hot water with some Koka instant noodles floating in it.The whole lot was flavoured by the curry flavour sachet from the noodles and if i remember right, this excuse for a meal cost 12 quid in broad daylight.Place should be knocked down.

As far as bad service with bad food combined goes then The Hard Rock Cafe in Temple Bar takes some beating.

Subway food is actually worse for you than mcdonalds..it contains massive amounts of salt as well as being hugely high in calories.

    Hooters in Interlaken, Switzerland.
Waitress took our order without writing anything down.(Always a great start)
Came back ten minutes later to take drinks order.
Brought us (two people) one knife, one fork.
Starter (chilli con carne) arrived with no cutlery, bread arrived another ten minutes later.
Mains arrived while we were still eating starter. Starter bowl then sat beside us for duration of meal.
We both ordered chicken burgers and fries. Fries never came.
Asked her THREE times where fries were, first time it was clear she hadn't ordered them.
    Second time she just shrugged.
Third time she said it wasn't her fault, 'her station was so quiet all night' WTF?!
Fries arrived after we finished burgers.
I know it can be stressful waitressing but for fucks sake, ordering fries with the burger is hardly ****ing triathlon requirements.
Ran amok at the manager, got no discount.
    Cunts.

    Lani's in Lanzarote.
Veg comes out of a jar, steak tastes like it was marinated in fish-guts,pizza an ill-coooked pile of slop.
DONT go there although the food is so bad its quite funny.

Yamamori makes a very bad job of a very over-rated food type. Both the one on the Quays and on Georges street have thrown me up almost inedible noodles, and piss-poor sushi.

Captain America’s, TGI Fridays, Hard Rock Café, Thunderoad Café, all shít. Horrible American diner style food, overpriced, weak cocktails, stupid names on their deserts. If I want this type of food (which I don’t) then I would head to the Bad Ass, at least an effort is made.

Mao: I refuse to eat in a place named after a man who killed tens of millions of people, imagine a German sausage and beer hall called Hitler! But some colleagues of mine have remarked that the food is shít, and very expensive. If I want good Chinese food I head to one of the places on Parnell street.

Tiger Becs, mass produced Thai food. Nothing horrible, but do not charge me €30 for what is essentially a stir-fry. The seats are too close together, and they rush you out the door. The type of place I expect to close as we move into a recession.

Floridita on Lower Abbey Street. Good cocktails, but the food rates very highly on the overpriced shíte list. Piss poor food at extortionate prices. I ordered crab claws for starter, and got three miserable little specimens covered in chilli powder. If I was paying for it myself I would have handed it back. For really good Cuban food, Bella Cuba in Ballsbridge does the trick.

East Korean BBQ on Crane Lane in Temple Bar - absolute rip off. I left annoyed.

Gruel on Dame Street near Temple bar - I used to love this place, until I realised the reason they wouldn't give me a receipt was because they were hitting me with a sneaky 12.5% service charge on top of the tip I was giving them (in other words, they constantly got about a 25% tip off me.) Note no where does it say they're going to take a service charge.
