Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Castlebar - A couple of good places,

Shortts often have a couple of good bands in.
Johnny Mc Hales have the best Guinness in the world, real old pub, nice for a quiet pint.
Hennellys/Rockys/Coxs Kinda Superpubs, where to go if you're out on the pull.

True, but the beer in hennellys isn't the best. The Irish house is OK when the students are around.

im student up there and imo the irish house is cack, saving grace is the pool table and the dart board. :)

hennellys is good, you'lll meet some fine lassies there on a saturday. pool table
stalkys is my roost, tis dark and student filled. darts
rockys is great, older crowd tho 25+ usually.
shortts? nods in agreement, didnt go there much tho.
coxs is good, they have an extended bar for those who cant stand the nightclubs (if you can get in its always packed)
mcgoldricks is good for a pint of anything, busy but not packed. pool table
bar one is a good spot, recently refurbished, young crowd (cant rem what it used to be called...)

as for night clubs, i prefer the TF, theres Cosmos aswell but younger crowd + more fights after te club ends.
baja browns is the mid week club for students, the pub and beer is usually crap....

im sure im leaving out one or two.... :)

Used to be called the Drunk Frog or the Tipsy Toad or somesuch. Nice spot and they show either a Liverpool or United match live on Canal+ every weekend.

The tipsy toad was a nice spot, didn't need refurbishing imo. Then again it was never packed, even on a weekend it was easy to find a seat. must be looking for a new crowd

And it's got new people running it. Still doesn't get packed but there are a good few in it and they have a late bar.
