    I didnt know about the tax disc thingy but I suppose it makes sense...

    If you have a student travel card how do you use when you to save money on bus and train fair...do I just the guy behind the counter the card when i'm buying a bus ticket?

    Only on monthly and weekly for bus and dart. No pay when you get on rates for students.

    There are discounts however when you are going on the intercity services.

    Since we're on the topic of student cards, it'll be my first year.....do they take our picture on that day that they give us our cards?
    So I should give how I dress/look that day a bit of thought like?

    Nope they take one there and then.

    Also the student travel card crew take another one if you get a free one with the banks (if they are still doing that offer)

    I dont think they are still doing that offer because I just got a new account and I didnt get a travel card!

    Whichever day you're registering for your course, which should be included in the information they sent you out about registration fee etc. You'll go into the exam hall, register, get your computer and library passwords and then get your student card photo. And everyone's turn out looking crappy, so do what you can, but be prepared for the worst.

    ETA: Red? I can live with that. It'll be washed-out looking, like it has been for the past 3 years, but it's still better than pink or snot.

    I think i've a way around this... Just as they're about to snap, purposely pull a face, such as a raised eyebrow or a skewed tongue! That way, you dont have that stupid awkward look.
