    hi.

im 32 slightly overweight smoking builder looking for an incentive to give up the fags and build a bit of stamina.

fancy getting into a sport that I can beat up a punch bag and maybe learn how to stand up to lads a little better.

I have a little trouble with my back due to heavy lifting most of my life but the physio says more exercise and muscle building in the right places will make it disappear.

I would love to try boxing or MA lesions but dont know where to start.

did ju jitsu for 3 years when I was a young lad but dont really fancy that the second time around..

    what would you suggest

    Hey,

    I feel a pimp coming on. ;)

I'm running a self-protection class in Newbridge. It's based on Lee Morrison's Urban Combatives system. Lee is one of the most well respected Close Quarters Combat instructors around.

Here a link to his site for details:
    http://www.urbancombatives.com/influences.htm

    Here's our Irish site:
    www.ucireland.com.

We just concentrate on stuff that's geared for the street. My newest member is 44 so age is not an issue (not saying that 44 is old mind:)).

More than welcome to pop down and check it out.

One thing I would say, there is no sporting elements in our training, just in case you're looking specifically for a sport. Theres also no harm in checking out a few different clubs, and sticking with the one that suits your needs.

    Good luck,

    Rob.

Just a word of thanks and a show of support for Baggio.

took a trip up to see what the story was today.

    Very informative and comfortable setting.

Never knew one could be lifted of one feet with an elbow:eek: wow.

learned more in an hour about real life defence than in 3 years of junior jitsu as a kid. Very impressive.

I would advise those who are considering self defence lessons to call up and check it out.

Sunday, Newbridge sports complex at 1.15pm

    See ya next week Rob:D

    Kenny..

    Hi Kenny,

Many thanks for your kids words, and I really appreciate you coming down.:)

You did very well yourself, and picked up the stuff real quick.

    Talk to you next week,

    Thanks again,

    Rob.
