Smells that take you back to a place

Has your nose ever detected a smell that brought you back to a particular place?
I remember I was working in a Spanish tapas bar and the smell of their meatballs always reminded me of my girlfriends vagina.... maybe it was the other way around, maybe all these years my girlfriends vagina actually reminded me of Spanish meat.
Or when I used to use Lynx Africa when I was playing basketball at a summer camp in America, I remember spraying in on myself recently and it brought me back to America in a flash.
Have you ever experienced a smell that brought you back in time or just reminded you of something, maybe genitalia?

The smell of horse manure reminds me of fond summers on the streets of Killarney (coincidently because horse manure was always on the streets:pac:).

Smoked food always reminds me of International Drive in Orlando. Every second building on it is a restaurant and the whole street just smells of it.

The smell of fresh bread brings me back to Bridge Street in Cork in 1990 on my first day of school. Bridge news used to bake baguettes every morning and I remember passing every day on my way to school and smelling the fresh bread. Particularly so on the cold mornings. A very powerful memory now that I think about it.

    Yore Ma.

Someone will correct me but as far as I know the rules only allow one "Yore Ma" post per thread...they also allow for one........ FAIL!

Sometimes new books have this smell that reminds me of getting really excited on christmas morning.
I think it is because they remind me of the smell of those giant lucky bag socks.

The smell of urine covered with bleach reminds me of my favourite pub.

On a nicer note, the smell of my pillow reminded me of someone the other day even though that person has never been near that pillow! It was weird. Nice weird.

Sorry, i'm only 15, and yet i haven't heard of vagina's that smell like meatballs.

Maybe i'll stick away from the ladies, or maybe just yours ;]

    anyway.
Bout a year ago i was on a flight to america. It was a long 'un obviously so we got a meal. The meal wasn't horrible, but the smell was the strangest i've ever smelt. Almost every day i smell that smell, i'm surprised i didn't notice it before.

Oh and when i was 7 i had appendicitis and i remember the smell of the bandages that went around my hand where the central line was.
    Yummy

It still is and is unsightly drove there recently and the place was littered. The town council came up with suggestions for a horse diaper and you can imagine the hilarity that ensued.

The smell of cut grass always reminds of me summers when it used to rain, also the smell of a summer barbecue wafting in from the neighbours was good. There was times when the sun used to shine in Ireland IIRC.

Hostel dorm, great week. 40 of us on a trip to examine the Planning System in Holland.

The best part was that some of the lads actually got grants to go, brilliant!!

The smell of hospital toilets bring back terrible memories of my c section.

Only time i got scared on my second pregnancy was if i had to use the toilet while in the rotunda hospital on visits or whatever i would just get this horrible rush all over my body as i was reminded of what to expect this time around.

Grants to go to Amsterdam? I wonder what ye spent it on! *cough* On the flip side what is the country coming to doling out grants to send students abroad? Excessive spending like this will break the country.

The smell of Booterstown station reminds me of last summer volunteering in the shanty town, Kibera. So does the weird bakery smell on Talbot street in the mornings. Churns my stomach. I used to like the smell of seaweed and bakery.. It's ruined for me, just reeks of sewerage now.
