    1. Does anyone know if the receiver on Woodcook for Limerick City has been upgraded for the RTE MPEG4 Trial.

    2. Is it confirmed yet as to whether PS3 PlayTV will work/be sold over here. It is MPEG4 compatible I think so there shouldnt be an issue right?

Well, they were doing a bit of maintenance on Woodcock a month or so ago.
At the time, speculation was rife that engineering tests could happen imminently so I assume that the ground work is done for DTT from Woodcock.

However the other transmitters around the country that were scheduled for maintenance around the same time have slowly started switching on DTT and yet Woodcock still nothing.

If Play TV is DVB-T Mpeg 4 capable then I can't see why it wouldn't work.
Does it allow you to connect to an outside aerial?.

Is there talk that these will now be DVB-T2 rather than DVB-T although thats probably irelevant as DVB-T2 should be able to understand DVB-T signals.

Yes Mpeg4 is the chip as I understand it. Understand they are now going with DRM (they were planning to have none)....... and that Sky have a PSP pay station in the UK for VOD.
