Electric Picnic, best route from Galway- Birr or motorway to Kilbbeggen?

Hi, Last time I drove the 'back roads' Portumna, Birr, Roscrea... but thinking would I be quicker going towards Athlone, Kilbeggen and then down to Portlaoise? Cheers, Pa

id say its all much of a muchness...

via Portumna its only bout 100 miles, and via kilbeggan its 113miles! so if ya want the good road, but extra mileage kilbeggan is the way to go!:D
