To be honest you would be better off giving it to one of your friends/family. Was in game the other week and this chap was selling 2 ps2 games and was offered €1.02 for both of them!!!
Alternatively try sell the machine on adverts.ie, you could get yourself a fair few bob depending on how many games you have with it, whether its a slim model etc...

I totally agree with Plascebo. It's the worst possible time you could ever consider trading in a ps2 and games. Gamestop are selling them off for nothing. So trade in value is going to be a hell of a lot less than nothing.

Private sale would be much better. Or do what I do and hang onto it for nostalgia purposes :D

Agree with previous posters. Better off going for a private sale / giving it to someone. Give it to someone with young kids - plenty of cute games and they aren't going to know it's not top of the range, or are they?!

I'm holding onto mine though - still play some great games on it :)

You should hold on to it.
Since the PS3 came out I have pciekd up games like Dragon Quest, both Kingdom Hearts and Silent hill2 for cheap. Theres better games available on the PS2 than the next gen consoles.

a guy in game told me they would give me about €50 for my PS2.

i brought about 20 ps2 games into xtravision and was offered €60 for them. they hold no value at all.

Keep it sure. PS3s are no longer backwards compatible with PS2 games, and there are a lot of great PS2 games you may still want to play.
