i was hoping so one could give advice
I bought a car in northern Ireland 8 weeks ago. When I was
buying it, I bought it with the agreement that the exhaust was damaged but the dealer was going to replace it with a second hand one. I was told by the dealer that it would take a week and that he would send it
down by post or by courier.
The problem is that he is claiming that he sent it down from Belfast by unregistered post but I never received it. When I ring him, four out of five times he does not answer his phone and when I do get hold of him he just puts me off. Two weeks ago I sent him a registered letter claiming my case and asking him to contact me. I have still heard nothing back.
I was wondering where can I go from here. Where do I stand and what could be my next course of action. At this stage I would just prefer to give him back the car

    We can't give advice.

We can give information - look up the trading standards officer in the local council.

Who sends an exhaust by post?
