How did ye get on yesterday?

    Anyway:

    1a -
    PERISCOPE
    10a -
    RESTORERS
    12a -
    RUINATION
    13a -
    PLATES
    19a -

    2d -
    EREBUS
    3d -
    INTENT
    4d -
    CARATS
    8d -
    REPRESENT

I have a few maybes which conflict with each other. What do you think?

    5d -
    PART ONE
    17a -
    OAP
    ?
    17d -
    ACE
    ?
    27a -
    CARD GAMES
    ?
    29a -
    A TAD STEEP
    ?
    24d -
    PESTLE
    15d -
    MYSTIFIED
    ?
    21a -
    ERA / EON / EVE
    ?

Also, what does "braow" mean, or is that just a typo in the online edition?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 111 ✭✭SilverHeron

    22D
    RA IN BOW
    29A
    A BIT STEEP
    17D
    ACE
    18D
    TEA

    5D
    PART ONE
    would make 17A
    AET
    That seems reasonable.. .

It's written like that in both the printed paper, and the on-line PDF. However, it's not a valid word, so must be a misprint ... brown or barrow perhaps?

5d seems right to me but what does
    AET
    mean?

Also I think 24d must be
    PESTLE
    so 27a cannot be
    CARD GAMES
    .

Ok, I don't want to peek at the answer because I want a crack at it tonight; however, I'm guessing is
    an anagram 'of + braow'

Oh, how wrong I was :) That's a nice clue.
