I have a few maybes which conflict with each other. What do you think?

    5d -
    PART ONE
    17a -
    OAP
    ?
    17d -

    A BIT STEEP
    17D

It's written like that in both the printed paper, and the on-line PDF. However, it's not a valid word, so must be a misprint ... brown or barrow perhaps?

  • Registered Users Posts: 527 ✭✭✭Spike440

5d seems right to me but what does
    AET
    mean?

Also I think 24d must be
    PESTLE
    so 27a cannot be
    CARD GAMES
    .

Ok, I don't want to peek at the answer because I want a crack at it tonight; however, I'm guessing is
    an anagram 'of + braow'

Oh, how wrong I was :) That's a nice clue.
