Esat BT 7.6Mb Broadband

Thats 7.6MB broadband as i upgraded from 1MB the min package. Happy enough except when im downloading videos and files im usually getting a speed of around 150kb/s now probably a stupid question but if my broadband is only capable of downloading at 150kb/s then whats the point of having 5mb/s download speeds? or is it that its dependant on the connection of the server im downloading from and if so is there any super fast servers i cant test from?

Downloading is dependant on your connection speed and the speed of the server you are downloading from.

Try downloading the following and see what speed you get. It should max out your download speed.

well, if it's all about the speed and there's not much difference, then there's not much difference... but there's also the fact that the 7.6 package has a better contention ratio and a higher cap so it depends if that's any use to you?
