What's the deal with selling irish concert tickets on auction sites like ebay, is it legal to do so ?

Are there any restrictions in place to prevent touts from making a killing ?

Apologies if this has been discussed here already. I had a look on ebay.ie and the only thing I saw mentioned was that the original face value of the tickets must be included..

Depends on the ticket and what conditions are attached. Radiohead, for example, don't allow reselling of their tickets, and if they can find out the serial number they will cancel the ticket. Touting goes on all the time on eBay and there doesn't seem to be anything done to stop it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes I saw this page and as I mentioned the only stipulation seems to be that you display the face value of the ticket.

I guess it's going to be interesting to see how things play out. I know for some concerts you have to show ID that matches the name on the ticket. But there has to be a balance between stopping touts and preventing genuine fans (who for whatever reason) can't go to a concert and wish to sell their ticket.
