The States is king when it comes to buttered popcorn. They have self serve dispensers, and free refills on large buckets.

Would love some now with a bag of Malteasers lobbed in them.

prob because the popcorn you take has been sitting there for about 20/30 mins in the bags and maybe a few hours before that in the containers. It's made a day or two before. When would they put the butter on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 631 ✭✭✭andrewie

They don't put the butter on until they ask if you want butter or not.

Butter is a complete pain in the arse to get off a tiled floor.

There were a couple of incidents where someone spilled their buttered popcorn onto the floor after getting it, then a bod comes along, picks up the popcorn, and while he goes off to get the cleaning stuff, someone comes along and falls on their arse.
the ucis have carpets. A pain in the hole to clean butter off but better than cleaning blood off tiles

Jaysus, you're all heart attacks waiting to happen. The popcorn in Galway are pre-salted anyways, don't want or need more flavour...

Popcorn in both cinemas in Galway is shte.

Omni used to do butter but heard that story bout someone slipping.

Think it's an urban myth started to justify not doing it. It's just hard to clean up.

It's to do with all the cardiac arrests people were having when they tasted it. Shocked, dropping their boxes to the floor, grabbing their hair, falling to their knees in disbelief and squealing "I can't believe it's not butter!..."

    That brings up another point.

What is Flora? It's not butter. I had always assumed it was margerine, but if you look on the pack, it doesn't say margerine anywhere.

Also, what's Low Low and Dairygold?

    Ridiculously ingenius??

Meh, I'm just going with ridiculous myself. I'm not buying this plastic bottle full o melted butter story.

Its not full of butter. I just put two large spoonfulls of butter into a jug, put it into the microwave for a couple of seconds, and then pour it into the plastic bottle.

    Whats not to buy?
