Hi guys. I was planning on making the chinese dish - Crispy shredded chicken with chilli sauce this evening. The recipe requires about 4 tbsp of wine vinegar and of course when I arrived home from town this evening I realised I had forgotten to buy any. The local shop doesn't sell any so was wondering if anyone knows anything which I could use to substitute the wine vinegar. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge.. you can use some wine and some vinegar. I rarely have wine vinegar i(or wine) in the house and just use whatever I have, ie cider, balsamic. Not distilled though.
