which drum kit is better for beginners?

    Hey man -
    I'd really consider buying second hand as your first kit. Cheap kits from stores like this look like good value in comparrision to the larger, more expensive kits but why not spend the same sort of money on an older but better quality kit.

    My first kit was a second hand LINKO drum kit. Regretted it straight away - I could never get a good tone out of the snare and it really hindered my development.

    My next kit I bought a 20year old Tama Swingstar and I was delighted. The kit was in alright nick. It was very cheap and a lot of the hardware had rust on it. However the wood was in great shape and as a result the kit sounded fantastic in comparisson to my more modern "cheap" kit.

    Have a look in the buy and sell but don't rush into anything. There are always good offers that come along as long as you're patient.
