the o2 Clear tarriff is exactly what I've been looking for. Did I get that right? This tarriff doesn't require a annual contract? telling them to cancel it 30 days in advance is enough - right?

Solitaryman666, thanks for this information. I was about to sign up for this offer this afternoon but did not realise the €20 couldn't be used for other calls / texts etc. I don't think o2 have made that too obvious on their website. Still may consider it though:D

3 pay - 18 cent a minute anytime and it's per second billing, 5cent video, picture or texts, + free skype and msn....

no other offer touches that....
