converting itunes songs to mp3

evening all - i have bought an album on itunes and have burned it onto a disk - it is in a cda format which is not recognised by my mp3 player which is a creative - it does not give me any option to save it as an mp3 file in itunes and i get a message to say that puchased songs in ituns are not allowed to be convereted to mp3.
my player will not recognise the cda format and i am looking to convert them into mp3 = i can not seem to find an option on my player software to convert them - now i know i did this before but for the life of me can not remember how !! but what i do remember is that i dont like Itunes

You can just reuse iTunes to re-import the burned cd.
Set the settings like below:

You can then copy the files to your to your player.
(You'll have the tracks listed twice in iTunes after you import them from cd)
