Oh, Ber, the voice of reason. How Nipplenuts dreams of your macchiato! Nipplenuts doesn't go to Dame Marts to smoke

i have no idea, you probably did, if you did it was bullshit, don't understand why you commented that line,
too lazy to read the article i guess.
WEED MAKES ME REALLY MELLOW. I'M FÚCKING TELLING YOU. IT REALLY RELAXES YOU. Except when you have none and get really uptight, despite trying to convince yourself it's not addictive.
it sucks that they can't exempt the coffeeshops from the law. any of the staff that we talked to loved working in them, duh dutch govt, they wouldn't work there if they had a problem with a smokey environment. there's very little point in goin to the dam if smokings not allowed but i'm sure the law won't be strictly enforced, seeing as cannabis is technically illegal there yet its sale and usage is overlooked. wonder what howard marks has to say :D
Yeah. Let's all look up to and admire a convicted criminal. Someone who has participated in an industry which has overseen the murder of countless people. That guy really is a hero.
While we're at it, let's all hail both George Bush and Saddam Hussein. They had good intentions too.

Anyway I've never been to A'dam unfortunately, and would love to go someday to smoke pot till the cows come home, so I hope it doesn't affect the cafes. Do these laws mean purely tobacco or any kind of smoking? I don't have a problem with pure joints by the way ;)
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. GIMME WEEEEEEDDDDDD. I'M NOT USUALLY THIS ANGRY[/SIZE[

what are you basing this on dude?
all the studies i have read, have indicated quiet the opposite.
    Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

yes well it is very hard for me to prove,
and indeed i don't have proof handy
    http://www.ukcia.org/culture/smoking.php
that page is an example of the wisdom i agree with which is basically

You don't need to mix cannabis with tobacco to smoke it and it's far better if you don't. Apart from the well known health risks of tobacco such as lung cancer, it's a nasty addictive drug as well. There are many people who started smoking cannabis when young, decided they didn't like getting stoned and stopped, but were left with a tobacco addiction as a result.

Smoking Cannabis without tobacco also means you breath in far less smoke, so any potential for harm is greatly reduced. The last time UKCIA asked the government about this we simply got the reply "there is no safe way to use cannabis", but then, when have the government ever told the truth about the herb?

I am sure you will find lots of contradictory evidence sponsored by governments and charities etc,

I would be very interested if you could find a solid reason why it is more harmful as I do not believe this to be the case
Wow. You cited a site which promotes smoking weed.
    That's not biased at all.
How many of those people actually have jobs?

Plenty of stuff in Amsterdam other than drugs and hoors y'know.
What about the Van Gogh museum? The beautiful anals? All the clogs, windmills, tulips and other pleasant stereotypes? Well??

    *awaits sarcastic responses*

    Fixed.

    tee hee!

Amsterdam is a fantastic city. The red light element is in a small area of the city. And like most vices, are over-rated.

Yes I will go back to Amsterdam again when it stops raining there. It's a beautiful city, and I didn't take any drugs the times I was there, so much more to it than hookers and drugs.

Everyone should do at least one night on the beer in Amsterdam!

Or at least get a group of ye to wait outside a brothel in the red light district until some young lad comes out, then all start clapping and cheering. Now *thats* a reason to keep coming back :D

As for standing outside brothels clapping, yeah very big of you...you all sound like great craic

I was there last Thursday and Friday with work. Most of the places in town have a "smoke pure" sign outside, meaning no tobacco. Seems to be more bongs on the counter for the customers. Also a free supply of tobacco alternative, vile stuff. Still as busy as ever in the few places I visited. Many of a terrace outside, so no change there.

They're fúcking themselves over tbh, so many smokers go there to relax and enjoy their lax laws, bringing in a smoking ban (particularly to cafes) is, I would imagine, going to cost them a huge chunk of revenue gained from tourism.

I was in the Dam on the third of July and there was very little difference.
Of the coffeeshops we were in that were being vigilant, there was seating provided outside for if you did roll with tobacco and there was also herbal smoking mix available for free to roll with.

In other coffeeshops we were told not to worry about it and just to make sure the cigarettes weren't on display, the logic being that nobody would know the difference given that the weed/ hash has a more pungent smoke than tobacco.

The streets were packed this time, same as over here, with everyone smoking outside and having a giggle. It's like that sometimes anyway, as you see groups of people gathering outside in between pubs and coffeeshops cos you can't drink alcohol in one or smoke weed in the other.

Don't agree that they're f*cking themselves over at all. People go into coffeeshops for one reason. That won't change because you can't use tobacco.

No, dried mushies are no longer available, you can buy them fresh and they'll tell you how to dry them yourself.

Haha, we took them in the Vondelpark, weirdest place ever. I'd say we fit in well strolling through pissing ourselves at all the strange things there.

I'm going on Monday for five days. I hadn't been before the smoking ban, so there will be nothing to compare it to. It should be interesting none the less.

Some of us don't like bongs, or pure joints. I personally like the slow burn of a nicely rolled spliff.

Hmm, I know a lot of people who have just gone to experience the spliff type dealies indoors in the cafes, wonder will this matter much to tourism or not.
