Elisha Scott: Keane will be signed by the weekend.

Make of that what you will. In my experience, he has never been wrong.

Would more or less rule out a move for Aguerro if it is true.
Im happy to see Keane signed though, think he would add a huge amount to the squad

Never was the biggest fan of Keane. Always looked like a bit of a huffer and puffer. Good season last year though and the Spurs fans seemed to like him.

With better players around him, I think Keane could do a job for Liverpool.

Thing is though what obvious quality does he have?
He has no end product, goes missing completely in big games and is famous for diving.
Granted he has scored some brilliant goals but so did Tony Yeboah in his day :D
Quaresma would cost 16-20m more than likely, i would be devestated if we put
all our eggs in his basket so to speak as i dont think he will cut the mustard
in the PL. I hope im wrong if he signs but dont see why i shouldnt say what i
think on the subject in fairness....

Saying that you would be unhappy about it is fair enough. Saying that the thought of it makes you sick is rediculously over the top. You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and I wouldn't dare suggest that you shouldn't post it but it would be so much better if we could have some perspective.

Take the Barry situation for example also. How many posts has there been saying "he is not good enough" or "he is not worth the money". These are perfectly reasonable assertions but the sheer number of times that individuals have posted this is taking the piss.

I am not sure how to put this so forgive if I am not making sense. Everytime you make a post saying that Barry is not worth it, I am pretty sure that a Liverpool fan (myself included) of the opposite opinion feels compelled to post the oppositive in defence of Barry. How fast forward 4 weeks to where we are now. We have multiple threads with hundreds of posts saying "barry is crap" following by "barry would be great for us" followed by "Alonso is better, I don't understand why Rafa wants to get rid" followed by "because he has been playing poorly for months" followed by "barry is more consistent" followed by "barry is ****" followed by "I would rather rape a bunny rabbit than sign Barry".

We all know you rate Alonso higher than Barry. We all know that you don't think Barry is work 18m. You don't need to post it a thousand times!

Everyone expresses themselves differently. Some may a little OTT but that's where tolerence of those around you comes in...

You need to get married, THAT will bloody teach you tolerance ;)

I am chilled, hence not being arsed to post on any of the Liverpool threads anywhere near as regularly as I used to. The forum has too many overly excited gimps who need to stop drinking cheap fizzy orange. Another clump of the users is made up of pedantic gimps whos sole intention in life seems to be to antagonise Liverpool fans and win pointless battles.

I would just like to ruturn to the days when folk made reasonable comments and the place wasn't over run by oppossing fans trying to get reactions out of others.

I never believed the Aguero link anyway. He would cost more than Villa, who we dont seem to be able to afford...

Huffer & puffer that scores a lot of goals...

    Career Totals:
    Games : 443
    Goals : 169

    Spurs Totals:
    Games: 253
    Goals: 107

Thats an average of 18 goals every season for the last 6 seasons... He would obviously be competing for a place with Kuyt, who scored 14 goals in all comps in his first season and 11 in all comps in his second.

42 goals and 17 assists in 78 games over the past 3 seasons for Spurs is an exceptional return.
Rooney has scored the same amount of goals in the past 3 season when you put it in context.
Would be delighted with us signing Keane the more i think about it, might put him in my
fantasty football team while he is still a spurs players :D

    Contrary much ?
This forum is better than any other football forum you will find due to the variey of posts and posters.
Why on earth should we adapt how we post to revert to your idealised version of this forum which you
obviously remember through rose tinted goggles?
And calling me a over excited gimp is a little bit much in fairness

Agree completely. I think that he would excel at the club and provide more than sufficient competition for both Gerard and Torres.

Are you suggesting that the scenario isn't largely based on what has happened across multiple threads at this stage?

    Leto maybe to olympiacos?
Olympiakos are reportedly in talks with Liverpool over the signing of midfielder Sebastian Leto.

Leto joined The Reds last summer from Lanus but has struggled for first-team opportunities since his switch.

The Argentine has previously been linked with a move away from Anfield, with rumours suggesting he could be used as part of a swap deal for Espanyol's Albert Riera.

However, fresh reports claim Leto, 21, could be set to join Olympiakos for a fee in the region of €1.6million (£1.3million) after the Greek champions held discussions with Liverpool over the weekend.

Unless we're desperate for the 1.3million id prefer to loan him out and see how he does. Looked to have great potential in the reserves before all the passport nonsense. Sure, was poor against marseille, but so was everyone else.

Its by far the biggest news surrounding Liverpool football club for the past 6 weeks.
Was there not the same debate surround the yanks vs the sheiks for 3 months across numerous threads also?
Its pretty big news thats on nearly every paper on a daily basis.
Of course people are going to keep talking and analysing it.

imagine people had based their opinion of john barnes on how he played for england?

keane is one of the top premier league strikers and would be an addition to any side, id be delighted if we get him

    ill even tolerate 'that' celebration

Keep talking and analysing it or the same 2 or 3 regulars complemented by 2 or 3 over eager kids on summer holidays repeating the same thing over and over on a daily basis for 6 weeks?

Seriously mate not quite sure what bee flew into your bonnet today but
you are insinuating that i have talked about Barry non stop in this thread
for 6 weeks. Thats bull to say the least. I have talked about at least 20
players in that time and gave links and sources to every story to stimulate
some sort of a debate. You could have contributed to any one of those
stories so instead of whinging that this place is stagnant and not like the
good old days, how about voicing an opinion once in a while on topics outside
    of Garreth Barry.
You shouldnt have to look far as i have posted about 4 different stories about
players we have been linked to today alone! :(

Was never going to happen anyway, he'd cost us at least €55m

he did it a lot less last season at least, think its getting reserved for special occasions now, like Crouch's robot is.

I am not whinging that the place has become stagnant. If anything, I am complaining that too many people are posting the same thing over and over with the same points and arguments being made over and over again.

    Anyway, apologies.

I agree with Irish Mike (or is it Frank now?!!:p) on this, Queresma thing.

I just hate diving players, no matter their quality, not that I see an abundance of quality in Queresma.

If we do sign him, nothing would make me happier than being wrong, but I just don't like what I've seen at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,871 ✭✭✭Karmafaerie

As for all the complaints about Keanes celebration.

He hasn't done it in over a year, has said that he doesn't do it any more, and when asked about it by a journalist, said that he'll only bring it out of retirement if he scored in the League Cup final.
    Which he didn't.

    Happy now?
